1898/1910, mixed lot in carton with uncomplete collections, duplicates, etc.
Chios 1857/1913: Interesting group of 17 items (fronts, envelopes, postcards & postal cards), marked with the 4 of 5 different postmarks of this Post Office, worth examination, good to very fine
Syros: 10sld fine whiskers, canceled with great strike "Agenzia del Lloyd Austro-Ungarico SIRA" in blue, very rare
Mytilini 1856/1914: Very interesting group of 35 items covering all periods, entires, envelopes, lettercards, postal cards and postcards, worth careful examination, fine to very fine
Vathy 1898/1914: Group of 35 items, some registered, franked with piaster and/or centimes, many corner covers (thematic Wines or Tobacco). Worth examination, fine to superb
Candia 1860: Prepaid entire folded letter with dateline "Irakleion 16/28.May.1860", sent to "SYROS 18.May.60" cds, with clean blue strike of the "Agenzia del Lloyd Austriaco CANDIA" handstamp. Rated "10" in red crayon, to pay the inland postage. Sender's handstamp in blue on obverse, Extremely rare and in very fine condition

1903/06: Eight philatelic registered envelopes franked with scarce values in centimes and Francs, tied with "CANEA" and "RETTIMO". High catalogue value, ideal for stamp collectors
Candia 1868/74: Scarce group of 14 items, all with mixed frankings Austrian Levant / Greece, two of them with 10sld 1864 issue, the other with 2x5sld (x1) or 10sld (x11) 1867. Very difficult to put together such a number of items. Stamps tied with "CANDIA" cds (type 2) and most of the letters bear the "P.P." accountancy marking of Candia. Mixed quality of the Large Hermes stamps (10 with short or reduced margins)
Candia 1874/87: Group of 8 items (5 entire letters, 1 cover and 2 postal cards) in soldi currency tied with type 2 (x6) and type 4 (x2) "CANDIA" cds, some with the "P.P." accountancy marking of Candia, sent to various destinations, interesting and in fine to very fine condition
Candia 1888/1910: Group of 18 items (1 entire letter, 2 registered covers, 5 envelopes, 1 registered postal card with reply, 7 postal cards and 2 postcards) in piaster and centimes currencies, tied with types 4-6 "CANDIA" cds, sent to various destinations, interesting and in fine - very fine condition
Canea 1848/87: Very interesting group of 19 entire letters, covers of letters, envelopes and postal card, some of the pre-stamp period (x3), the others franked with soldi currency stamps, tied either by the datestamp in two lines "CANEA" (type 2) or the "CANEA" cds (type 3). Among them, a cover franked with 5sld +2x10sld (25sld rate to Italy) and two registered covers to France, franked with 2x10sld each and marked with the scarce linear "Chargé"
Canea 1849/71: Three covers only and two entire folded letters, marked with a wide range of colors (oily brown, black, blue and green) of type 2 datestamp in two lines "CANEA". Four of them with additional "Franca" marking. Included, a rare letter to Genova with green "PD". Clean and scarce material
Canea 1869/72: Five covers only of folded letters, franked with 10sld 1867 (x4) or with "Franco" marking, tied with type 2 datestamp in two lines "CANEA", sent to "SYROS" cds or "PIRAIEFS" cds, tying the 20L (x4) or 2x10L (x1) stamps to pay the inland postage. Clean and scarce material, possible imperfections of some Large Hermes stamps. Certificates for two of them, Holcombe (1995) and Ferchenbauer (1997)
Canea 1890/1911: Very interesting group of 15 postal cards (including 4 complete "with reply"), canceled by the "CANEA" cds (types 3 to 6). Fine to superb quality
Canea 1895/1912: Interesting group of 15 envelopes (including 3 registered), postal cards and postcards, tied by the "CANEA" cds (types 3 to 6). Among them, a postcard with double (mixed) franking. Needs examination, good to superb
Rettimo 1897/1913: Interesting group of 11 items (6 envelopes -one registered, and five postal cards), franked with piaster and centimes, canceled with type 3, 4 and 5 datestamps. Interesting for study, worth examination
Rhodes 1860/1913: Interesting group of 9 items with various postmarks and various currencies (soldi, para/piaster, centimes). Among them 3 folded letters with the two-lines "RHODUS" (the first sent to Paris) and two envelopes franked with centimes (values 5c and 15c, 1908 issue. Tchilinghirian doesn't report the use of stamps in centimes). Scarce ensemble and fine to very fine
Janina 1861/1910: Group of 18 items, some registered, some corner covers and postal cards. Included are two entires franked with 15sld 1867. Worth examination, fine to superb
Prevesa 1869/1901: Group of 19 items (12 entires and 7 postal cards) with three different postmarks, "PREVESA" with date in 2 lines (x2), in 3 lines (x15) and "PREVESA Oesterr. Post"
MACEDONIA: Cavalla 1859/1909: Great selection of seven items, as follows, 1. three covers with type 2 "CAVALLA" cds (two of them with "Franco"), 2. two items franked with soldi stamps/stationery with type 3 cds and 3. two picture postcards franked with para or centimes stamps, tied with large "CAVALLA Oesterreichische Post". Fine to superb condition
Salonica 1836/1913: Interesting collection of 43 items with various postmarks of the Austrian I + II and Lloyd's P.O. many interesting items, i.e. forwarding agent notice, disinfected entire, various frankings, rates for registered or printed matter, many postal cards (including a 5sld in carmine!?) and lettercards
ALBANIA: Santi Quaranta 1906/15: Group of 10 items, including items during the period of Autonomous Epirus (x4) and the period of the provisional Annexation to Greece (x1). Some very interesting items, i.e. four registered covers and a Greek postal card with an Austrian stamp affixed and tied with "SANTI QUARANTA c Oesterr. Post 3.II.1915", very interesting lot in fine to superb condition
1888/1911, Group of 13 items from "SAMSUN" (2 registered envelopes and 1 postal card), "SMYRNA" (4 envelopes, one being registered and 2 postal cards) & "CONSTANTINOPEL I or III (two registered envelopes, one postal card and one wrapper to Crete), interesting lot
1860s/1910s, Collection of postmarks, hundreds of stamps with various types of cancels with strong emphasis on Crete that includes blocks, Epirus with "PREVESA" and "JANINA," Samos and Chios, but also including Albania & other offices. Noticed some "VOLOS," a partial "LEROS," a couple "LARNACA DI CIPRO," among many others; stock cards and glassines full of wonderful stamps with great cancel types to list here. Overall, stamp quality is high, but this is a postmark collection so some stamp faults should be expected. Very high catalogue, excellent for study
1870/80, Collection of stamps or fragments and Interpostal labels, in total 42 stamps/fragments and 18 labels, as follows: Lagos (3 + 2), Cavalla (4 + 2), Salonicchi (2 + 2), Tenedos (0 + 2), Scio (10 + 4), Volo (2 + 3), Rodi (9 + 0), Metelino (12 + 3)
1898, Litho Issues, variety lot with the 10pa in 3 horizontal imperf between pairs tied on philatelic covers by "IRAKLEION" straightline; an imperf block of four that is unused no gum, with vertical crease affecting left vertical pair and backstamped; a canceled 10 pa brown horizontal pair, imperf between, and a canceled 20pa red imperf at right.
1898/99, Stock of mint and used, including British 20pa Handstamp mint horizontal pair, two pairs and seven singles - all canceled, twoon piece - six covers with lithographic stamps including an interesting 20pa green on cover to Athens with Greek strip of three 10L postage dues and a cover with a vertical strip of four 10pa brown. Numerous mint and used stamps, some in multiples, completely unpicked, spot checks showed both genuine and fakes, some of the British with faults due to the paper used, overall good quality and excellent for study.
1898/99, Collection of over 100 British, French, and Austrian postmarks, including all British straightline cancels in black, violet blue or violet, with the exception of "MOCHOS"; also, French postmarks including "HIERAPETRA" and "SAN NICOLO", a number showing both British and French postmarks together as well as a couple with Austrian "CANDIA" and British "IRAKLION". Included is a small cover with "AG. MYRON," and a couple of British related but with Greek stamps and cancels. Most likely all philatelic. A set of forgeries and some singles with a forged "IRAKLION" straightline used as reference. Most are mounted on pages, or stock cards. Overall quality is fine, there might be some forgeries
SALONICA: 1902/14: Group of two postal cards (1908, 1914) overprinted "Levant", two picture postcards (1903, 1904) and one registered cover (1902 -with "2" inverted) franked with 2pi/5d, all canceled with "British Post Office SALONICA", clean

MEF: 1945/47, Collection mainly mounted on exhibition sheets, with 32 covers (either properly posted or philatelic) and some official documents concerning the Postal Service, including 4 pages with the well known strikes of the postmarks and markings "found in the basement", interesting for study
CIVILIAN MAIL: Candia 1899/1911: 16 items franked with various Levant or Cretan stamps, all canceled with "CANDIA" cds. Included are "AR" & registered envelopes, very interesting
Rethymno 1899/1911: 9 items franked with Levant or Cretan stamps, canceled with "RETHYMNO" cds, including 2 registered covers. Also an unaddressed postcard with Austrian Levant tied with "HIERAPETRA". Interesting lot, hard to find
Canea 1897/1914: 19 items franked with various Levant or Cretan stamps, canceled with the two types of "LA CANEE" cds. Included are registered & "AR" envelopes, early mail with violet cds, stamps with gutter pairs' numbers and nice early postcards, very interesting
Canea 1901/14: 6 registered philatelic envelopes franked with the high values of the 1902 issue, tied with "LA CANEE" or "CANDIA" cds, sent to Germany or Austria, with arrival cds, high catalogue value
MILITARY MAIL: Canea 18971905: 11 items (8 envelopes, 2 postcards & 1 fragment) franked or free of charge, sent from LA CANEE" cds. Some very interesting covers, i.e. a cover to China (via "Ligne N Paq. Fr. No2), a handstamp of "Le Commandant de l'Arsenal LA SUDE", 7 early covers dated 1897, etc, Very nice & interesting selection
LEVANTE: 1893/1913, French Offices in Cavalle, Dedeagatch, Port Lagos and Crete, selection of mint & used. Better include Cavalle 10c type I mint, 2 and 4pi and 8pi (x3) used, as well as 1902/03 sets (2 mint, 2 used). Also, Port Lagos 1893 set (x2) and a few extras of the high values. Dedeagatch with numerous good stamps including one 10c type I used, several high values mint and used, and 1902/13 sets (2 mint, 2 used). Crete is loaded with mint and used, looks like two complete country sets (one mint, one used) with extra high values of 5fr, second set high values in mint and/or used condition. Also, a group of twelve philatelic covers franked with various high values, great lot for study
