"LIVORNO 18 MAR 73", upon arrival charged with "9" decimes thus postage due 10c. and pair of 40c. applied and tied by cds. "MARCIANA MARINA", the "Sobre Porto" stamp paid the pre-UPU fee for mail to certain countries which Colombia did not have postal treaty of convention, a beautiful item, an exceptionally  rare issue on cover, certificate Moorhouse (2009)

1880, Victoria 1d. red-brown tied by superb strike of "E88" obliterator to printed matter to Genoa with two adjacent strikes of cds. "COLON DE 21 80", slightly unfresh, covers with the E88 obliterator are surprisingly rare and this is to our knowledge to only one sent to Italy, signed Calves and certificate Moorhouse (2007) Provenance: "The Glassco Collection" (Robson Lowe, 1969)

1872, Hidalgo 50c. yellow with good margins tied by "CORREO VERACRUZ SETBRE 17 1872" to cover front of mourning cover endorsed "Via New York" to Genoa, blue crayon "30" U.S. debit to Italy for the transit from Mexiko to U.S. applied in New York with corresponding cds. "NEW YORK TRANSIT OCT 2", by Cunard packet "Java" from New York to Queenstown, upon arrival charged "51" thus postage due 10c., 1l. as vertical pair of 2l. applied and tie by cds., postage due adhesives with faults, nevertheless quite attractive and rare as only a few letters were sent to Italy by American ships

1874, Hidalgo 25c. blue tied by boxed "FRANCO EN CHINIPAS" to envelope to Genoa, via San Francisco where blue crayon "35" U.S. debit to Italy, black "T" and cds. "SAN FRANCISCO LOCAL ST. SHIP APR 27" where applied, over land to New York, upon arrival in Genoa charged "115" thus postage due 5-10c. and 1l. applied (at edge of cover) and tie by cds., a very attractive and rare cover as letters carried by American ships are already scarce, this letter has been carried via Mazatlan to San Francisco and then by land to New York, where most of the mail went via Veracruz and New Orleans

1848, folded lettersheet from "VERA-CRUZ OC 16 1848" to Lucca, with ship "Forth" up to Bermuda, there transshipped onto the "Severn" up to Southampton, rated "2/3" d.; the letter endorsed to the "HEATH & FURSE" which paid "£ 1.3" to the GPO, with red boxed "RETUNED FROM" and "LONDON PAID" alongside, via Boulogne with oval "P.F" to Lucca, there marked "Sconosciuto", the letter has most likely been never delivered, despite some faults a very interesting entire

1853, folded letter from "VERA-CRUZ NO 4 1853" to Voltri with nice strike of boxed "COLONIES/&c ART. 13" alongside, sent with ship "Avon" up to St. Thomas, there transshipped onto the "Magdalena" up to Southampton and then to Genoa, there charged with "17" decimes and redirected to Voltri with red straight-line "RETRODATO" on reverse, a attractive entire

1857, folded letter dated "Lima 12.8 1857" addressed to Chiavari, charged "14" decimes upon arrival, fine

1864, folded letter from Callao addressed to Genoa and first transported by ship "Bogota" to Colon and then transshipped onto the "Tamar" to St. Thomas, from there send with the "Atrato" to Southampton, with accountancy mark "GB 2F 87 50/10" alongside, charged upon arrival "14" decimes, a attractive and scarce entire From the letter:" I trust this letter to a sailing boat leaving to Callao, these isles lacking mail connection with the dry land...". The letter was written by an Italian captain who was making costal trading along the West coast of South America. The oval handstamp "PEDRO SOLOGINAC CALLAO" was probably the forwarder in Callao. The isles Chincas, not far from Callao, where the isles of the "Guano". A year later from the date of the letter, the isles becaome the theatre of the Spanish-Peruvian war 1865-1866.

Lama 20c. brown diagonally bisected tied by framed "ARICA" to envelope endorsed "Via Panama St. Nazaire", with three line "PANAMA 29 DE 1876 TRANSIT" alongside, the cover was delivered to the Colon French P.O. which sent the letter to St. Nazair by the "J" Line, upon delivery charged with "17" decimes, thus postage due 10, 60c. and 1l. applied and tied by cds. "GENOVA 28 GEN 77", postage due and enevelope with faults, nevertheless an attractive entire and to our knowledge the only cover with a bisected stamp of this issue addressed to Italy, signed Enzo Diena with certificate (1986)

"LIGNE A PAQ. FR.. No. 2 JUIN 74"., upon arrival taxed "14" decimes, thus postage due 40c. and 1l. applied and tied by cds., vertical fold through Peru adhesive, otherwise a very attractive and unusual combination of the Ligne A postmarked combined with "PANAMA TRANSIT"

1843, folded letter dated "Callao d'Lima 16- 7 bre 1843" addressed to Genoa and transported by ship "Le Due Sorelle", charged 4 soldi upon arrival and red three-line "VIA DI MARE (A)" applied, fine The "Corriere Mercantile" of Febr. 19. 1844 reports the arrival of the brigantine "Le Due Sorelle" from Callao describing the merchandise on board. The newspaper also reports the departure of the "Maria Antonietta brick sardo" to America. Both ships are mentioned in the above letter. This cover states the existence of a Sardinian merchant service between Genoa and Callao. Cavour was one of its clients, mainly about the guano supplies.
