1874, Estero Viktor Emanuel II. 30 (with lower left corner "unmodified") and 40c. tied by a superb strike of the rare barred "MONTEVIDEO" to insufficently paid registered envelope transported on the ship "Europa" to Aulla, upon arrival a good strike of two-line "Da Montevideo coi Postali Italiani" applied, some soiling and minor imperfections on the adhesives, but one of only four known registered letters carried by Lavarello from Montevideo to Italy, only two of these known with the barred "MONTEVIDEO" cancel and this is the only known with this franking as also mentioned in "Sassone Gli Annullamenti" on page 629, signed Colla with certificate (2009) and certificate Scheller (2009)

1874, Estero Viktor Emanuel II. 20 and 40c. tied by a strike of the rare barred "MONTEVIDEO" to folded letter to Napoli Vallo della Lucania per Acquavella, some soiling and minor imperfections on the adhesives, but only two other covers known with this cancellation, signed E. "AGQUI 3 SET 77" and two-line "Da Montevideo coi Postali Italiani" alongside, reverse flap roughly opened and small tear at top, otherwise a fine and attractive cover directly consigned to the Italian Consulate

1867, Postal stationery enevelope Numerals 10c. green endorsed "p. Vapore Europa" paying the local postage, taxed "9" d. and two-line "Da Buenos Aires coi Postali Italiani" alongside, faults at top and two disinfection slits, a rare cover as the "Europa" did not call at Montevideo, the cover was privately sent to the Buenos Aires P.O. and embarked on the "Europa", only two entires with this peculiarity are known (Higgins & Gage#6)

1879, Postal stationery enevelope Numerals 10c. blue endorsed "p Steamer Matteo Bruzzo" from "MONTEVIDEO AUG 8 84" to Lemgo and from there forwarded to Bad Oeynhausen (Higgins und Gage #8) During the ships journey a terrible cholera epodemic afflicted the people provoking several deaths. The vessel was rejected by Uruguay and Brazil and forced to sail back to Italy, where it was kept in quarantine close to the isle of Pianosa

1867/1908, interesting group of 5 different ship timetables e.g., three send as printed matters, also a small brochure with timetables plus a few other documents

BOLSHEVIK PERIOD: 1917-19 (16.5) money transfer card for 15 rubles, sent from Lemburg, Lifland to a soldier with the 13th Finland regiment, via the Head Field Post Office at Velikie-Luki, from where it was directed to F.P.O. No.19, then to F.P.O. No.20, then F.P.O. No.18. Over 3 months later received in Kovrov, then to Riga (2.4.18), back to Kovrov (22.3.19) and finally returned to Lemburg two years later! A historical document, reflecting the fluid military situation and the disruption of postal communications during this period which saw the Bolshevik Revolution, German occupation of the Baltic States, the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk, the Allied Armistice and civil war in Russia. Despite the nearly two years of effort, the poor soldier never received his (now vastly devalued and nearly worthless) 15 rubles
