HAITI - OLDENBURG: 1855, Envelope showing on reverse clear blue forwarding agent oval marking " ARTHUR B. WHITE. PORT AU PRINCE. HAYTI" and faint British PO "JACMEL JY 12", mailed July 13 per "Tyne" to St. Thomas and July 18 with the same ship to Southampton, German transit mark "SEEBRIEF PER ENGLAND AACHEN 5/8 B", charged with a total of "19½" silbergroschen. JAMAICA - CANADA: 1856, Second rate entire letter from "SAVANNAH-LA MAR-JAMAICA SP 22 1856" to Montreal with transit mark of Kingston, St. Thomas and Quebec, arrival mark of October 28, charged with "1/8" British Northamerican currency

JAMAICA - CANADA: 1857, Entire letter from "SAVANNA LA MAR JAMAICA AP 23 1857" to Montreal. Although Kingston noted "6" d. for the direct route to Halifax, the letter was transported per "Urinoko" to Southampton with London transit mark of May 17, here taxed with "1/2" and transported from Liverpool "L/MY 19" per "Canadian" to Quebec, Montreal arrival mark of June 2, charged with at total of "1/4". The "Canadian" wrecked on this trip on the St. Lorenz, no further mail recorded

MEXICO - CONFEDERATE STATES: 1862, Lettersheet franked with 1861, 2 r. on rose MEXICO, cut into at left, tied by mute cancel and light "CORREOS MEXICO 28 AGO" addressed to New Orleans, transported via the British PO "VERA-CRUZ SP 1 1862" and transported via St. Thomas (per "Trend") to Southampton, London transit mark of September 29 and again from Southampton October 1st per "Hansa" of the Northgerman Lloyd to New York with frontside "NEW YORK AM.PKT. OCT. 14". From New York most likely transported with U.S. navy ship. A very rare letter redirected via Europe due to Civil War blockade

NEW ZEALAND - NEW BRUNSWICK: 1868, Blue envelope franked with 2 copies 1864/67, 3 d. lilac, tied by Dunedin numeral and sent December 2 to St. John, New Brunswick, transported in closed mail via Panama, Colon and St. Thomas, here directed to New York with frontside "N.Y. STEAMSHIP 10" and further to St. John with arrival mark of January 26; cover open on 2 sides, fine and unusual (SG 117)

NORTH GERMAN CONFEDERATION - CURACAO: 1869, Entire printed matter under cross wrapper, franked with 1868, ¼ gr. violet and 1869, ½ gr. orange, tied by cds. "HAMBURG P.E. 4 30/10 69", transported via London with red "P.D." and pair closed mail via St. Thomas to Curacao with arrival mark of November 21 on front, some minor and absolutely negligible transportation marks. NORTH GERMAN CONFEDERATION - MEXICO: 1869, Entire printed matter franked with 1868, ¼ gr. violet and 1869, ½ gr. orange, tied by railway mark "GEESTEMÜNDE / 31 / 10 / HANNOVER" with adjacent "BREMEN", sent via "LONDON 1 NO 69" and per closed mail via St. Thomas and Veracruz to Guadalajara. The ½ gr. slightly rounded corner, otherwise very fine and fresh. A rare transatlantic printed matter

PANAMA - GREAT BRITAIN: 1876, Small sailor's letter (envelope) from a member of HMS Albatros at Panama, the ocal countersigned by commanding officier, franked with GB 2 d. blue, cancelled in transit with "C51" of St. Thomas, addressed to Pocklington with transit and arrival marks, most part of upper backflap missing and the stamp negligible small corner fault. A stunning letter, certificate Paaskesen (1995)

PERU - AUSTRIA: 1861, Unpaid entire letter from Callao with faint dispatch mark of British PO, per closed mail via Panama, Colon and St. Thomas to England and from "LONDON E.C. JA 14 63" via Belgium and Prussia with red "SEEBRIEF PER ENGLAND UND AACHEN" to Austria, taxed with a total of "1.30" (gulden/nkr.)

PERU - FRANCE: 1859, Entire letter from Lima, sent via British PO "CALAO AP 27 1859" sent by closed mail via Panama, Colon, St. Thomas and London, showing on front clear accountancy mark "GB 2 F 87 5/10 c." and charged "12" decimes

PERU - ITALY: 1846, Entire letter from Lima to Genua, Italy, endorsed "Via de Panama" and transported via "ST:-THOMAS JA 14 1846" to London, since unpaid with boxed "No.  Detained for Postage" and "Returned for   Postage" with manuscript "2/6", finally sent to Italy with red "PAID 16 MR 1846" and arrival mark of March 23, interesting letter

"LIMA 18 JUN 1871" and clear boxed "Aus Westindien über Bremen" to Hamburg, transported per closed mail via Panama, Colon, St. Thomas and England to Bremen, arriving July 15, and from here to Hamburg, charged with a total of "19¼" groschen; a fine and scarce letter

PERU - PRUSSIA: 1864, Small envelope with crowned circle "PAID AT CALLAO" endorsed "via Panama - via Ostende" to Münster, prepaid with "4/10", transported in closed mail via Panama, Colon and St. Thomas to England and via Belgium to Germany, showing on front blue "SEEBRIEF PER ENGLAND UND AACHEN 29/11"

PRUSSIA - MEXICO: 1860, Lettersheet (top and bottom backflap missing) from "WITTEN 3/8" addressed to the Prussian consul in Mexico, endorsed "durch die Vereinigten Staaten", prepaid with "15¼" silbergroschen, transported via "AACHEN PAID  Cts. / 4 8" to New York, here marked "24". Since there was no regular steamship service any more from New Orleans to Veracruz since November 1858 the letter was held and finally mailed via "ST. THOMAS OC 12 1860" to Mexico, here charged with "2" reales inland postage; a highly unusual item

PRUSSIA - UNITED STATES: 1851, Entire letter from "COELN 17/2", prepaid with "39½" silbergroschen addressed to a member of the German ship "Reform" at San Francisco, endorsed "via Panama", travelled via London, in closed package per "Trend" to St. Thomas (arrived March 19) and on March 24 per "Great Western" to Shagres and further via Panama to San Francisco, on reverse forwarding agent mark "Reynolds & Co. Express / San Francisco" and oval "NOT PAID", both in blue. A fine and extremely rare letter of the forwarding agent Reynolds & Co., who disappeared already in the fall of 1851

PUERTO RICO - BREMEN: 1848, Entire letter endorsed "By West Ind. Steam Packet" to Bremen, dispatched British PO "SAN-JUAN-PORTO-RICO JU 11 1848", transported per "Teviot" (RMSPC) via St. Thomas to Southampton and further via London to Bremen, here taxed with a total of "46" grote. A very unusual letter avoiding the Spanish post at Puerto Rico completely

PUERTO RICO - CURACAO: 1856, Lettersheet with crowned circle "PAID AT SAN JUAN PORTO RICO" and dispatch mark "SAN JUAN PORTO RICO SP 29 1856" via "ST. THOMAS SP 30 1856" to Curacao with red arrival mark on front, some folds (one with small paper break at top) and some ink erosion in the address
