1852, Entire letter from "KJØBENHAVN 7/10 1852" to Hamburg, prepaid with "16" skilling postage + "8" skilling late fee, endorsed "p Slesvig via Kiel", unusual and scarce entire

1855, letter sheet addressed to Copenhagen, dropped in a letter box , endorsed "franko" in lower left corner, posted with Copenhagen compass mark of 24.11.1855, marked in red crayon "ubetaldt kassebrev" and charged with "8" skilling (instead of usual 3 sk. for unpaid local letter). Possibly because the letter is adressed in swedish, the postal clerk charged the 8 sk. Oresund rate; highly unusual

1855, Envelope from "KJØBENHAVN 5 8 1858" to Wildbad in the Kingdom of Württemberg, prepaid with "9" skilling Danish postage "4" skilling late fee and "13" skilling German postage which is marked with "3" groschen in red crayon. On reverse transit mark of Hamburg, Baden railroad mark and arrival mark; fine and scarce

1856, Lettersheet from "AHRENSBÖCK 21 2 1856" to Sickte in the Duchy of Brunswick, obviously dropped in a letterbox endorsed "free" with adjacent notation "Not paid (signature)". The letter was charged 6 skilling unpaid letter rate, noted as "1 2/3" gutegroschen at upper left; Brunswick charged a total of "3 ggr"; on reverse transit mark of Danish PO at Hamburg and distribution mark. An interesting item

1869, Original letter of explanation from the General Post Directorate in Copenhagen to the post office at Aarhus about an express letter which was presented to the post office carrying a 4 sk. adhesive in the top of the right corner and in the bottom left corner a number of adhesives corresponding to the express fee, for which the sender was asked to pay an additional 2 sk. for unpaid letter rate. The General Post Directorate answers detailed, that this action was completely in accordance with the present regulations. A very interesting original document

Ferslew 4 rbs. chocolate-brown, plate I, good to large margins, used with target cancel on lettersheet from "FRIEDRICHSTADT 13/9 1852" to the ministry for the Duchy of Schleswig and Copenhagen, endorsed "frei" in lower left contrary to regulations and the letter treated as unpaid; additional "3/4" schilling courant additionally paid by the sender. A rare and highly interesting item of Schleswig postal history. Certificate Moeller BPP (2002)

1851, 2 sk. blue, thiele, good to large margins all around, used, fine, signed Senf and certificate Debo BPP (1983)  

1858, 8s. green, fresh colour and good margins all around, unused with part original gum, fine

1864/70, 3 sk. violet with numeral "44" used on local lettersheet with adjacent "NAESTVED 16 6" endorsed "fr" in the lower left contrary to the postal regulations, so that the unpaid letter rate of 3 sk. instead of 2 sk. had to be paid. An attractive and exceedingly rare single franking; one of 3 examples recorded

1840, "LEEWARD ISLAND F" in green, clear strike on reverse of entire letter (the contents proving that it is coming from St. Thomas) to Edinburgh with clear London arrival mark of June 18, charged on arrival with "6/-"; some vertical folds, still fine and very scarce

"PAID AT ST. THOMAS" (CC2), good strike on entire letter from St. Croix with adjacent Danish "CHRISTIANSTED 12 5 1862" to South Zorra, West Canada, endorsed "Via Halifax", paid with 4 c. inland postage and "pd 4 d." British postage to Halifax, transported via "ST. GEORGES MY 18 1862", on reverse also transit mark of Quebec and arrival mark of May 31; on front marked "unpaid 5" which was applied to part paid letters. A very interesting and rare letter with light patina, one of the few recorded carried by open mail

PRIVATE SHIP MAIL: 1864, Centavos issue: ½ cent on brown, vertical block of 15, unmounted mint, the left row partly touched/cut into, otherwise very fine and fresh. A very scarce multiple, certificate C.A. Møller AIEP (Facit LG35)

ROYAL MAIL STEAM PACKET COMPANY: 1875, House flag 10 cents rose-red, complete sheet of 30 with all margins, mint never hinged, a fine and scarce item, in addition a single stamp used with agents cancellation "JOH KOCK & CO..:" (Facit RMS 1)

ROYAL MAIL STEAM PACKET COMPANY: 1875, House flag 10 cents rose-red, tied by oval agents cachet "JOH. KOCK & CO LLOYD'S AGENTS PTO CABELLO" to folded lettersheet (sideflaps missing) endorsed "p. Essequibo" (the Vessel of the Royal Mail Steam Packet Company) to Barcelona with instructional marking "VIA DE INGLATERRA" on reverse and red "SHIP-LETTER" and tax marks on front. One of only three recorded letters with the Royal Mail Steam Packet Company stamp this being the only recorded usage from Venezuela and the only usage to an address outside of the Caribbean area, a great and attractive rarity of Venezuela and Private Ship letter stamps of the World, detailed certificate Heister BPP (2005) (Facit RMS 1)

1756, Entire letter, dated "Thorshafn 6 Octobre 1756", sent by Antonius Haldarsen to his brother in law to Copenhagen. The second earliest recorded entire letter from the Faroes sent abroad. A marvellous item.

1852, Entire letter from Thorshavn to Copenhagen, dated 28.12. posted on the Shetland Islands with black boxed "LERWICK JA 27 1853" and sent via London and Altona, charged with a total of "45" skilling including 6 pence British share and 22½ skilling Danish postage. Very fine, just two further letter known with this routing.

1853, Entire letter from Thorshavn, dated March 23, to Copenhagen, carried by private ship to Norway and here posted with clear blue "KRAGERO 31/3 1853". On reverse manuscript "Befordret fra Kragerö" and "betalt 24 S. wolff". Very fine and rare; the earlier of only 2 letters recorded having been transported via Norway
