1897,  1 anna blue-green with extremely rare experimental perforation

1911  1 pice turquoise-blue horizontal pair with manuscript surcharge "1/2 a". An article by R.F. Stoney on this particular surcharge appeared in PJI (Philatelic Journal of India) May 1937 page 61 which reads "One of our members (Mr. E. Franklin DeSouza), who was kind enough to write to the State authorities on the subject, has informed me that he has received a communication dated the 11th February 1936, from the Inspector of State Post Offices, Charkhari State as follows: "I beg to inform you that the stamps mentioned in your letter were issued in 1922 and 1930 and were official. Now all of them are out of stock since the new pictorial stamps were issued." The above letter would therefore vouch for the genuineness of these Provisionals"

Local cover franked with two copies of the 1909-19  1p turquoise-blue each tied by Charkhari cds with "CHARKHARI C.I. / 25 MAR 1912" delivery cds on reverse. The perforated crossed swords issue of Charkhari are rare on cover.
