1879, UPU 1c. green and 10c. black tied by wonderfully contrasting red grid of diamonds to mourning cover endorsed "via Panama" to Roma with red cds. "ADMINISTRACION de SUCHITOTO. ABR 16 1882" alongside, a small, completely irrelevant tear at the bottom of 1c. adhesive does not disturb the excellent appearance of this scarce entire

1879, UPU 1c. green and 10c. black tied by mute cancel to small envelope from San Miguel via Forwarder "Encaminada por VICENTE y Ca. La Union" to New York with "NEW YORK OCT 14 PAID ALL" on reverse, fine and scarce

1879, UPU 2c. carmine, 5c. blue, 10c. black and 20c. purple, all tied by mute star cancel to double-weight registered cover with also partly tying red cds. "SALVADOR 27 NOVI 83" alongside to Munich, blue boxed "REJISTRADO" and red London transit alongside, "MÜNCHEN 30 DEC 83" arrival on reverse, despite some aging and minor imperfections a stunning four-color franking of which we have registered no further one, signed Schlesinger and certificate Rendon (1986)

1879, UPU 2c. carmine and two singles 10c. black, each with margin, tied by star cancel to envelope with pre-printed Sender's address "CONSOLATO D'ITALIA in SAN SALVADOR" and adjacent red cds. "CORREO DE SAN SALVADOR 27 MAY 84" to Rome, some minor aging, very fine and attractive entire

1879, UPU 10c. black, horizontal strip of four and single stamp (fallen off and replaced with other stamp) with blue star cancel on slightly overfranked triple-weight registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt with adjacent cds. "ADMINISTRACION DE CORRESO SANATA ANA JUL 10 1885" to Dresden, some minor imperfections, the horizontal strip of four is the largest recorded multiple on entire, a fine and attractive usage

1879, UPU 20c. violet, horizontal pair tied by black star to registered cover with acknowledgement of receipt with red adjacent "CORREOS De SAN SALVADOR 13 DIC 83" via London with transit mark to Berlin, some aging, attractive, a rare stamp on entire

1879, Coat of arms 20c. lilac tied by concentric circle to large format double-weight cover sent from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with adjacent red "CORREOS del SALVADOR PAQUETES AGO 14 1 1879" via London to Naples with arrival mark, cover opened out for display, some minor faults as to be expected, the stamp was issued only in August 1879, from 1880 already 22 centavos were due for such a letter, a very early and rare use of this stamp, certificate PF (1998)

1889, Allegory with handstamp "1889" 1c. green with additional franking tied by mute two-ring cancellation to cover to London with transit and arrival mark, horizontal fold not affecting the adhesives, a very rare and attractive entire, this issue was only valid for about 40 days and only few covers are known

1890, Victory Goddess, two composite die proofs in block format in red and green, the latter one without value inscription, both with file number at base, in addition single die proof 5c. yellow on india paper, the green proof slighlty stained and some wrinkles, a fine group

Antonio Ezeta, had succeeded his brother Carlos as president. However, due to corrupt and dictatorial leadership, he was overthrown at the end of 1894, so that the prepared stamps where not issued.
