5 c. red-brown on blued, horizontal block of twelve, nice fresh colour, the upper left stamp partly close, otherwise with good to large margins all round, with small sheet margin at base, tied by target cancels to entire letter with adjacen red “SANTIAGO 26 AGTO 57” to Valparaiso, paying the 3 ounce rate. Faint horizontal creasing in the top row, otherwise very fine and fresh. A fantastic and famous cover with one of the largest recorded blocks on letter of all classic Chile issues. Unique. 1855, 2nd London Printing 5 c. red-brown on blued paper, horizontal strip of four with fresh colours, left adhesive cut in otherwise good to wide margins incl. portions of adjoining stamps at top and bottom, tied by six-bar target cancel to folded entire to Pisagua with adjacent red dispatch "SANTIAGO CHILE 31 AGTO 57", endorsed "Vapor Inglès" and charged "2" at top, reverse blue cds.; cover with usual aging and paper wrinkle at lower right, fine and rare franking
