COLONIAL PERIOD: 1796, cover front of a registered mail from Cuba to Santander carried by brigantine "La Divina Pastora", with red oval "HAVANA Franco", alongside two-line "ISLAS DE BARLOVENTO", both struck twice, endorsed on the reverse "3 de Septiembre 1796", some usual minor soiling and wrinkles, with large part of the back missing. Earliest ship´s register mail recorded from Cuba to Spain and extremely rare combination of postmarks, ex "Nuevo Mundo"

1946, Tobacco Industry, sunken Essay in green without value, mounted on a larger card, very fine and rare

1951/54, Queen Isabella 50 c. original artist project in watercolour on thick cardboard, together with 30 c. and 5 s. Trial Colour Proofs (3) in blocks of four, artist´s drawing slight peripheral toning, otherwise a very fine and rare specialist assembly

1866, 20 pa., 2 copies, tied by clear "POSTE VICEREALI CAIRO 6 FEB. 66" to entire letter to Suez with arrival mark. Very fine and scarce.

1866, 1 pia. lilac, tied by part of blue-black "POSTE VICEREALI EGIZIANE CAIRO 20 MAG 67", with additional strike alongside, to entire letter  with combination franking Italy De ia Rue 60 c., tied by numeral "234", with adjacent cds. of Alessandria and boxed "PIROSCAFI/POSTALI/ITALIANI" to Italy. A fine and rare combination cover,

2 pia. orange-yellow, perf 12½, diagonally bisect, upper left half, tied by blue "POSTE VICE-REALI EGIZIANE CAIRO 27 LUG 67" to entire letter to Alexandria with arrival mark. Very fine and attractive.

1867, 20 pa. green 2 copies, tied by cds. " V.R. POSTE EGIZIANE MINIE 5 DIC 69" to entire letter to Cairo with arrival mark, one stamp tiny creasing, still fine/very fine

1867, 1 piastre red, tied by cds. "POSTE VICE-REALI EGEZIANE CAIRO 6 NOV. 68" to envelope with  additional franking Austrian Levante forerunner 1864, 15 kreuzer, tied by cds. "ALEXANDRIA 7/11", to LeipzigSaxony, with transit- and arrival marks. Small part of reverse flap missing, otherwise very fine and fresh. A rare combination cover. 1867, 1 pi. red, tied by black 'retta' as the Volos Consular Post Office datestamp had yet to be placed in use, to entire letter  from Volos to Trieste, dated inside '11/23 July 1870' (Gregorian resp. Julian calender), franked with Egypt  The cover travelled with the Khedivial Mail Line to Syros with frontside "SYROS 12 JULY 70", rated '25' lepta in blue crayon (equal to 10 kreuzer to be paid by the recipient) and was forwarded to the Austrian Lloyd express line from Constantinople to Triest.; on reverse Trieste arrival cds (July 28). An outstanding and unique entire - the Consular Office on Volos was announced to open on July 14, 1870, thus this cover was mailed on the second of the (weekly) services. Signed A. Diena, A. 1872, Sphinx 2 p. dull yellow, perf. 13½:12½, tête-bêche pair within a block of four, upper sheet margins, fresh colours, unused, a few opened perfs reinforced by hinges, minor toning on the tip of the selvage only, otherwise very fine and attractive, together with a normal block of four, unused, very fine; a scarce variety (Chalhoub D27h)

2 pia. yellow and 1 pia. red, tied by "POSTE VICEREALI CONSTANTINOPOLI4 NOV. 76" to small envelope to Alexandria with arrival mark. Small tear in the envelope backed and part of reverse flap missing, still fine and very scarce

2 ½ pia. violet, block of four with horizontal and vertical tête-bêche. Fine colour and large part original gum, very fine

1884/1902, 1 pia. blue, horizontal pair, tied by cds. "PORT SAID 3.VII.86" to telegram – envelope of the Eastern Telegraph Company Ltd., as registered letter to the island of Mauritius with transit- and arrival marks on front and reverse, including red "LIGNE T PAQ. FR. No. 2". Left stamp tiny corner crease, still very fine. Signed Holcombe with certificate (1996)

1914, pictorial issue 1 m. – 200 m., imperforated blocks of 4, unused with original gum, five stamps with hinge remainders, otherwise unmounted mint. A fine set.

1922, overprint trial proof in red on  1m. and 15 m., unmounted mint, very fine (Nile Post D78ct,D85ct))

1922, King Fuad, nine essays in different designs or colours, unmounted mint, one without gum as issued

1926, Port Fuad 5 m. - 50 p., tied by special first day cancellations to pieces, very fine and scarce. Certificate BPA (1939)

1934, UPU, three official envelopes with different frankings of the special issue, tied by special cancellation, with adjacent additional special handstamps in larger size in red or violet, all to Paris, 2 with arrival marks, partly opening faults.

1956, 2nd Arab Scout Congress souvenir sheet perforated and imperforate, unmounted mint, fine, very rare

1956, 2nd Pan-Arab Jamboree, both Miniature sheets with full original gum and special first day cancel "SCOUT CAMP ABUQIR 25.7.56" in the upper margins. Few tiny marginal bends, still very fine.

"ACAJUTLA": very fair strike in black together with straightline handstamp "FRANCA" on a folded entire from Sonsonate to Liverpool, endorsed in manuscript "P. Columbus West India Mail", reverse transit cds. "PANAMA MY22 1861", "LONDON" and arrival "LIVERPOOL 13 JU 61" on front. Archival vertical fold and some slight aging, otherwise fine and very rare

1893/94, Americas Discovery 2 p. blue and Columbus 5 $. blue, two sunken Trial Colour Die Proofs on India paper with fresh and sharp impressions, each mounted on a larger card, very fine and very scarce

1893, 400th anniversary of the discovery of America by Columbus 5 p. Vignette in black on India paper, also an Intermediate Proof in green with missing tablet and inscriptions, together with Trial Colour Proofs (7) in brownish-red, brown, violet dark grey, some occasional tiny faults, otherwise fine to very fine, a rare group

1902, Columbus 1 p. dark brown, sunken Die Proof on thick paper, sharp impression, fine and very scarce

"CIUDAD REAL": superb transit strike in black on a 1812 folded entire from Comayagua, Honduras, to Guatemala; very fine and scarce

1934, Colombus 20 c. black, Die Proof in adopted colour on thick card, dated in pencil "OCT. 1930." beneath, fine and scarce

1947, Masters of the Land 1 w. indigo, imperforated sheet, fresh colours, unused without gum, lightly folded horizonzally once in the middle and unobstrusive corner bend in the margin only, very light toning on the back, still very fine, scarce

1962, Stamp Exhibition presentation booklet, 0,50 k.-0,70 k. and 1 k.- 1,50 k., two souvenir sheets and two Deluxe Proofs on thick card, the proofs slightly toned, still fine

1894, Allegory 5c. rose/black rouletted (3), tied by cds. "BASSA LIBERIA MAY 21 1894" to a 10c. postal stationery envelope for registration sent to USA, reverse transit marks "DEUTSCH-AMERIK. SEEPOST HAMBURG NEW YORK 26 6 95" and "NEW YORK 7 - 4 1895", arrival cds. Clintonville, fine and scarce

1867, Wove paper, Medio real on white, horizontal pair, large margins, unused with fresh original gum, very fine. A great rarity; the only recorded multiple of this stamp with original gum. Certificate MEPSI (2004)

Medio real, block of four with large margins (one stamp cut out by opening), with oval handstamps of Guadalajara on reverse of entire letter to Mexico City. The entire slightly faulty on front and the upper letter fold separated and fixed by hinges. A unique multiple of this stamp, of which just seven entires have been recorded. Certificate MEPSI (2002)

Medio real, two copies, together with 1 r. on white , all cut round, tied by "FRANCA SAYULA" to entire letter of April 3rd, 1867, to Guadalajara. The entire with some faults, still fine and very rare; the earliest recorded usage of the medio real. Certificate MEPSI (2002)

 1r. on grey-blue, horizontal merging pair, partly cut-to-shape, tied by oval "FRANCA SAYULA" to entire letter to Guadalajara, paying the single rate. Very fine and rare, just three such multiple frankings recorded. Certificate MEPSI (1998). 

1r. on dark blue and 2 r. on green, both cut square but touched, tied by 'laureate' handstamp to letter sheet with adjacent "CORREO GUADALAJARA FBRO 24 1867" to Leon. Horizontal filing crease affecting the stamps slightly, still fine. Only five covers have been recorded bearing the 1 r. on dark blue, this is the earliest recorded usage of this stamp.
