"MIRZAPORE": fair strike of a three-line "MIZAPORE BEARING " (unrecorded by Giles) on reverse of a folded entire letter to Cawnpore, dated inside 1848, endorsed "to await arrival" on front, reverse arrival framed "CAWNPORE BEARING" (Giles-Nr. 13), entire with an intact and exquisite small silver seal; fine and rare combination

"NAGORE": good strike on small delicate native paper folded entire letter to Madras (Giles 1), adjacent framed "AM" and arrival red Madras "G.P.O. 1853 AU" (Giles MX5), some acidic ink imperfections, still fine, very scarce

"PORT BLAIR": fair strike on Postal Stationery 1 a. brown with reverse arrival "SECUNDERABAD DECCAN 92", together with a selection of ½ a. and 1 a. bearing similar cancellation, fine and scarce mail from the penal colony island

1859, Queen Victoria 1 d. blue, position 14, fresh colours, good to large margins with parts of two adjoining stamps, pen crossed and tied by fancy cancel "KEFALONIA 1859 7 JULY" to entire letter to Corfu, arrival cds. "CORFU 7 JULY" alongside, a delightful early usage in appealing condition, certificate Simmermacher BPP (2008)

1 d. blue, fresh colours, four very good even margins, pen crossed to an entire letter with fancy cancel "KEFALONIA 1859 11 JULY" to Patras, alongside framed "FRANCA", 15 leptas collected for maritime fee, reverse arrival cds. "PATRAS 1 JULY 59" (Julian calendar). Some minor toning and address crossed out, still fine and very scarce, certificate Simmermacher BPP (2008)

1921, Jamaica Discovery 3 d. green/sepia, Trial Colour Proof on thick paper, fresh and good to large margins, very fine

"DRY HARBOUR JAMAICA": Very fair strike in black on reverse of a 1845 folded entire to London, adjacent red arrival cds., fully dated inside "15 August 1845", endorsed in manuscript "1½" on the obverse for internal transit, light archival fold, fine and very unusal, an interesting item

1895/96, overprint issue 6 a. in block of nine and 12 a. in block of seven, each tied by squared circle of Mombasa to piece, fine/very fine, each with certificate Dr. Knopke

1859/61, Britannia imperforated 6 d. dull purple-slate, good to large margins, with 1862, perf. 14 to 16, 6 d. slate, tied by numeral “B53” to letter sheet from “MAURITIUS SP 18 73” to France. Very fine and scarce.

1855/58, blued paper, 1 d. red, good to large margins, lightly cancelled, tiny corner crease, just touching the frame, otherwise very fine.

1857/63, Chalon Head 6d. chestnut, fresh color and good even margins, used with light barred oval, fine
