1849/1902 (ca.), engaging collection with over 50 covers and a few used, including Postage Dues, fine choice of cancellations, Paris Dotted Stars, some shades and better destinations like Finland, Mauritius, Ceylon and Brasil, noted a selection from the first Cérès issue with singles and multiple on covers, the collection then unfolds with the Napoleon Empire imperforated up to the Sage type, many interesting usages with printed matters, maritime correspondence, disinfected mails with slits or through vinegar bath, same value but two issues as well as three-colours with three-issues frankings, etc., mixed condition, in one album

(Mi.-Nos. 20-22) tied by gros chiffres “5051” to 1866 entire letter from Oran (Algeria) to Saigon (French Indochina) or 1870 “Emission de Bordeaux” 80 C. carmine (Mi-No. 44) on folded letter from Le Havre to Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). Slightly variying condition.

1853/1900 (ca.), mint never hinged/unused and mostly used collection up to the laureated 5 Francs, many duplicates with shades and plate flaws, nice selection of cancellations, together with a few covers, also printed matter, etc., very mixed condition, neatly mounted on album pages
1862, unused and used collection of the 20 Centimes Napoléon with circa 4000 used and over 65 covers, highly specialized with shades, plate flaws and perforation varieties, an abundance of multiples with pairs, strips and blocs, some better items with an unused bloc of four (minor gum bends), an unused “SPECIMEN” single left sheet margin, followed by a group of used tête-bêches including one vertical pair (signed aimé Brun), two singles of the position 33 (the tête-bêche cliché), many major plate scratches and retouches including Napoléon with Horn, interesting selection of cancellations and usages with small dotted lozenge “EU” on a 1867 folded entire with cds. “EXPOSITION UNIVERSELLE PARIS”, 1866 usage from Constantinople with large dotted lozenge “5080”, scarce 1863 mail from the French military mission in Mexico with dotted lozenge “CEMB”, 1864 “CORPS EXPEDITIONNAIRE D´ITALIE”, etc. Some occasional faults as to be expected, a few album pages toned, otherwise mostly in fresh and fine condition, neatly mounted in two albums (Mi.-Nr. 21, Yvert-Nr. 22)
1870/1871, BORDEAUX issue, fine used collection of 29 stamps of all denominations plus one cover, slight faults to mainly fine, neatly arranged on album pages, showing better types/shades like 5c. emerald, 20c. better type I, somel are signed.
1871, Magnificent Plate Study of the 25 Centimes Cérès, with over 2500 used and circa 500 covers, representing an extensive work on panes A2, D1, D3, B2, G1 and G3, plenty of extra material including some combination frankings and registered covers, fine cancellations, an abundance of multiples with pairs, strips and blocs, some better items with two unused blocs of four and a strip of three (Type I), two single positions 131G1 (the tête-bêche cliché) one used on folded entire, etc., some occasional faults as to be expected, a few album pages toned, otherwise mostly in fresh and fine condition, neatly mounted and expertly described in seven albums. A meticulous study which would be arduous to reproduce nowadays (Mi.-Nr. 51, Yvert-Nr. 60)

French Levant, Algeria and Post Office in Indochina, with an ecclectic range of usages, destinations and routes, some better items with ship mail line B postmark “COL. FR. PAQ. FR. BN°4” (Salles 1446-4), “CORR. D.ARMÉES SAIGON” (3), French Post in Algeria with small lozenge “4007” LAGHOUAT and large lozenge “5142” BOGHARI, Spanish cds. “ADMON DE CAMBIO BARCELONA 3 Ctos.” on 1873 French incoming folded entire, 1874 unofficial France-Switzerland Mixed Franking unrecognized and taxed upon arrival, 1871 folded entire to Genova with franking tied by two-line “FRANCIA VIA DI MARE”, incoming franked mail from Caracas and Montevideo, 1874 folded entire to Marseilles with mixed franking Cérès and Rivadavia, 25 centimes Cérès tied by large dotted lozenge “2387” with cds. “MONACO 16 JUIL. 74” alongside to envelope to Paris, incoming mail to Monte Carlo (signed J.-F. Brun), etc, mixed condition, in one album with some minor toning on a few pages
1871/94 (ca.), 25 Centimes Cérès collection of circa 110 covers and a few pieces and used, with a fine selection of postmarks and cancellations, some better items with special post offices dotted “ASNA” both small and large types, cds. “CHAMBRE DES DEPUTES”, “SENAT”, scarce reallocated large dotted lozenge “332” BARR used from ST ELOY, etc., many interesting usages from railway stations and travelling post offices, Paris dotted stars including some sub-types, Levées Exceptionnelles, rural postmen cachets, underfranked, postal fraud, registered mail and printed matters, along with some attractive three-colour frankings including mixed issues. Some mixed condition noted, nevertheless many fine and neatly mounted on albums pages, a useful specialist lot
