1858, WARSZAWA 8/8 c.d.s. in red on folded envelope with content, red FRANCO and red crayon “21” alongside, on reverse transit mark WIEN 10/8 and arrival mark of austrian Levant CONSTANTINOPLE 13/8. In three days from Vienna to Constantinople the only possible route is via Semlin and DDSG to Galatz Romania and Austrian Lloyd black sea to Turkey. File folds and toned through yellowish traces of vinegar for disinfection. PROFI has not recorded any earlier cover from Poland to Turkey
