A very scarce transatlantic mail with Russian origin, from the known Benson & Ives correspondance
1825, folded entire with full contents from St Petersburg to Boston, reverse two-line frame “Forwarded by Y(our). O(bedient). S(ervan).ts / Maury Latham &Co. LIVERPOOL”, on front red transit cds “NEW YORK” and matching straightline “SHIP”, manuscript “20½” ship rating at upper right corner, small tear on the back, still fine. Scarce
1851/57, 12 c. black, a pair and a single, margins in places and right-hand stamp lightly creased, tied by neat „DU BUQÜE JUL 29 1857“ datestamp to yellow envelope routed via New York American Packet (August 1, 1857) and „Prussia closed Mail“, „AACHEN 13.8. / FRANCO“ datestamp and „Franco Preuss. resp.Vereins. Ausg(angs)-Gr(enze)“ instructional marking alongside, to „Zillis, Ct. Bünden, Schweiz, Europa“, tiny border crease and rough opened at left, otherwise fine and attractive.
