1857, “PAID AT HONG KONG” small crowned red cds (Webb type 11) and reverse “HONG KONG 4 OC 1857” (Webb type 7) on entire letter endorsed “Per Overland Mail” to Hamburg with alongside accountancy mark “6¼” applied at Triest (Mediterranean and Austrian transit) as well as manuscript 8½ (schillings) due, arrival  cds “HAMBURG 29 11”, fine and rare 

1860, envelope to Colchester, England, with red despatch cds “HONG KONG PAID C JY 7 60” (Webb type 14) and manuscript “6” (pence) prepayment, with reverse transit and arrival cds, fine, in addition a second cover from the same correspondence with similar red “HONG KONG PAID C JA 29 60” with reverse transit and arrival cds, the envelope a little tatty. A scarce duo

1891, surcharges 20 c. on 3 c., 50 c. on 48 c. and 1 $. on 96 c., all with “SPECIMEN” overprint, unused with original gum, 20 c. one missing perf and small spot between “I” and “M”, not further affecting the appearance, otherwise fine and fresh (Yang Nr. 42-44, HK$ 6000,- for MNH)

1879 5c. on 18c. lilac on black on blue U.P.U. formular postcard, very fine and fresh, a difficult card to find in nice condition. (Yang P2)

1901,  4 c. on 3 c. postal stationery reply portion of double card with inverted black surcharge (Yang P14 var.) cancelled VICTORIA HONG KONG AU/21/01. Addressed to Stettin Germany with arrival mark 20.9.01, tiny corner crease, otherwise fine. PROFI recorded only one normal card with inverted overprint, reply part inverted is unrecorded.

1866, Treaty Ports: Shanghai, United Kingdom entire letter from London to Shanghai, cancelled 'Lombard Street / F.O./ Paid / MAR/10/66' cds. in red, endorsed "via Marseilles" on top left. For Late Fee only 1 d. red cancelled and 1/4 d. prepaid in cash by red crayon. Sent via “Care of Messrs. John Burd & Co., Hong Kong”. File fold at bottom, otherwise fine and an unusual entire. The addressee, John Anderson Esq. Mess. W.R. Adamson Co. Shanghai, formed his firm, exporting tea, silk and general merchandise in 1858 in Shanghai and became Chinas greatest export company for tea and silk. In PROFI archive no other forwarding agent covers John Burd Co. to Shanghai recorded.

1898, Coiling Dragons 1 c. ocher vertical strip of three neatly tied by bilingual cds “SWATOW 24 JUN 01” to postal stationery card 1 c. rose to Bremerhaven, Germany with additional Hong Kong 2c. green vertical pair applied in transit tied by “HONG KONG JU 25 01” and red framed “IPO” (Webb fig. 104, Swatow Type 3). The card with a minor crease running between the Hong Kong adhesive and slight toning on reverse, still fine

1 c. ocher and 2 c. red neatly tied by cds “CANTON OCT 00” to postal stationery card 1 c. rose to Germany, additional franking Hong Kong 4 d. pearlish grey tied in transit by both cds “HONG KONG OC 7 00” and additional framed “I.P.O.” (Webb fig. 104, Canton I, rated “R”), arrival “LICHTENSTEIN” alongside. The Coiling Dragon 1 cent with a torn perf, otherwise fine, very scarce, certificate Haveman BPP (2024)

1 c. ocher vertical pair, 2 c. red and 10 c. green, tied by large cds “SHANGHAI” to registered postcard to Austria with additional Hong Kong 2 c. rose horizontal pair and 10 c. lilac/red tied in transit with small cds “HONG KONG NO 28 98”, handed over to French paquebot with hexagonal “LIGNE N 3 DEC 98” and registration circle handstamp “R” alongside, arrival “MAIDHOFEN 31 12 98”. The card with a vertical crease barely affecting one adhesive, fine. An attractive combination enhanced by the registration status

1863/1974 (ca.), mint never hinged/unused and used accumulation with many duplicates, showing a fine group of the early unoverprinted issues up to the 30 cents, together with a few multiples, slightly mixed condition

1863/88, small used and mint never hinged collection with souvenir sheet No. 1, 2 and Mi.-Nr. 518-21I, mostly fine

1885/1903 (approx.), used group of over 60 Queen Victoria values, used by various ports, incl. better cancellations, e.g. Lui Kung, Tau, Hoihow, etc.

1903/12 (approx.), mostly used collection with over 80 values of the King Edward VII issue, incl. better Mi.-Nr. 88 unused with gum

1891/2024 (ca.), hundreds of covers and cards with an abundance of interesting usages, many before the 1950s, noted early postal stationery cards, some First Flight covers and censored mail, better items noted like 1895 one cent postal stationery card with additional 2 c. carmin (vertical pair) tied with cds “AMOY” via Hong Kong to Danzig, etc., except for the occasional fault in overall good condition.
