A No. 1/ 3 DEC.66" (Steamer  'Nouveau Monde') to France, taxed with "10" decimes with adjacent red boxed "AFFRANCHISEMENT INSUFFISANT"; the franked english 10 pence were the sufficiant postage for english packet; most likely the letter missed the english ship; the french rate for unpaid letters was 1,20 fr., so apperently the franked 20 c. were accepted as part payment.
