1851/60: 3 d. dull red, a diagonally bisected example used as 1½ d. with 6 d. yellow on blued paper with large margins all round and portion of adjoining stamp at left, used on 1859 entire letter from Lancaster via Halifax to Hull, England; tied by barred '1' numeral obliterators in black. Reverse with 'St. John / NB' datestamp (Sept 19) and Hull arrival cds (Oct 3). Some file folds but a most attractive entire of great scarcity. Certs.
