6 d. olive-yellow, diagonal bisect and entire stamp, both with good to large margins and fresh colour, tied by blue grill "8" to lettersheet from "CHATHAM AP 29 1859" via Sackville and Halifax to St. John's, New Foundland; the single stamp with tiny and almost invisible marginal tear, otherwise very fine; a unique franking paying 8 d. letter rate via British Packet to New Foundland (as the lowest denominated  stamp was 3 d. it was only possible to overpay the rate if prepayment was made in stamps).
