1848/59, POST PAID earliest impression 1 d. orange-vermilion with original printing flaw above PE of Penny, very nice fresh colour, 3 clear margins and slightly cut-into the bottom, nicely cancelled, leaving the face almost free; some faint thinning on reverse, otherwise fine and fresh, a rare stamp, certificate Holcombe (1994), ex Sammlung "Frankfurt"

1848/59, Early Impression 2 d. blue, mostly clear at left, otherwise slightly touched or cut-into, tied by grid cancel to folded letter with adjacent boxed "SOUILLAC.AU.10 1852", adjacent boxed "INLAND" an crown handstamp "MAURITIUS GPO", to Port Louis; the entire with some age wear as to be expected, but still fine and attractive; a rare entire with an early print stamp, certificate Brandon (1996), ex Sammlung "Frankfurt"
Intermediate impression 2 d. blue with variety "PENOE", good to large margins and neatly cancelled by central target; a faint horizontal crease, otherwise very fine, certificate H. Richter (1990), ex Sammlung "Frankfurt"
Latest Impression 1 d. red, full to wide margins, used with oval cancel on entire local letter, showing on reverse crowned "MAURITIUS AP 13 1859" and boxed "PENNY POST"; the stamp tiny marginal tear at top, just touching the design, otherwise fine, the entire with usual aging marks; an attractive and very rare local letter, ex Sammlung "Frankfurt"
1858, FOUR-PENCE green with clear to large margins, used with central target on lettersheet to Bordeaux, showing on reverse clear "PACKET LETTER MAURITIUS MR 27 1852", transit and arrival marks; the stamp faint tiny pin-hole, otherwise fine; March 27, 1852 is the earliest recorded usage of this stamp; a rare letter

1859/61, 1 sh. vermilion, just touched at lower right, otherwise clear to good margins, together with De La Rue 4 d. rose, tied by clear "B53" to small envelope endorsed "Via Aden" December 6, 1871 to France with arrival mark of January 5; the envelope with fixed tears at upper left and lower right corner backed, still a fine and attractive cover, ex Sammlung "Frankfurt"
1863/72, 1 d. brown, 4 d. rose and 6 d. blue-green, tied by "B53" and Cochinchine transit cds. to lettersheet 1868 to Saigon; the 6 d. tiny marginal tear at top, otherwise very fine and attractive letter to unusual destination, ex Sammlung "Frankfurt"
1863/72, 10 d. maroon tied by duplex "MAURITIUS AU 20 74" to entire letter to Ireland, ex Sammlung "Frankfurt"
