1868: Cover from Gravenhage to Benkoelen, Netherlands Indies endorsed 'Landmail Marseille' at top, franked by 1867 20 c. green, Type II, perf. 12 3/4 x 11 3/4 overlapping 50 c. gold, Type I, perf. 12 3/4 x 11 3/4 tied by framed FRANCO handstamps in black with 'Gravenhage' despatch cds in red alongside (Sept 24). Translated manuscript notation on reverse 'If moved or dead, please foerward to Samarang'. Minor imperfections but the 50 c. adhesive is rare on letter, only 8 letters with this combination of stamps recorded to date (Corinphila Netherlands Archive/Global Philatelic Network). Cert.
