1840, Entire letter dated "Callao 4th Sept. 1840", privately carried to Liverpool, here franked with 1 d. black, plate 4, JG, tied by faint red MC and sent to London, slightly stained; the earliest recorded letter from Peru franked with a postage stamp, certificate BPA (1994)
