1828, folded lettesheet sent from Hobart Town to the secretary of the Grand Lodge of Mansons in Dublin, manuscript rate 1/3d. and circular "PAID" appluied in London, reverse with irish diamon shaped red postmark, some minor imperfections, a rare early letter from Van Diemen Island which, at the time, had a very low population

1853, Victoria 4d. red-orange horizontal pair with good margins on three sides, close at left, used, fine (SG. 950£)

1854, Victoria 1s. blue, good margins on three sides just touched at bottom, tied by numeral "1" and red "LONDON PAID" to envelope to London, reverse with clear strike of red "SHIP LETTER MELBOURNE", some slight imperfections, otherwise fine

1867/70, 6 d. blue and 1873/87, 1 d. green and 8 d. red-brown on pink, tied to mourning envelope via England to Copenhagen, Denmark with transit and arrival marks; 6 d. light corner crease, otherwise very fine

1914/39, George V, collection of 47 covers and cards incl. few incoming items, several airmail letters, registered mail etc. incl. 1915 cover to Bombay with manuscript censor's notes, 2 postal stationery items 1914/17 to Muscat, registered service letters, airmail letter via Basra to London, endorsed "Received by airmail 5/8/30. Amy Johnson as passenger. 1938/53, George VI, extensive postal history collection with about 130 items incl. some incoming mail and with several rarities, beginning with several items with "BAHRAIN DUE"-markings, air- and registered mail, censored mail, 5 rs. (SG 34) on  2commerical covers to the US and pair 5 rs. (SG 14w) on commercial cover to San Francisco, covers to GB, Belgium and Persia with postage due combination frankings, airgraph letter with forwarding envelope, the only recorded postal stationery card "HALF ANNA" on 9 ps. with additional franking to India, very rare experimental "K121" postmark on cover to England (2 covers recorded), 1 shilling postal order for Persian Gulf agencies cancelled "BAHRAIN 16 JU 50" (the only recorded George VI postal order from any Gulf post office) and many other interesting and rare franking and markings; a marvellous and outstanding collection

1953/80 (ca.), Elizabeth II and Independence, outstanding collection on 67 exhibition pages with some major rarities of the country incl. SG 80a in block of 4 and plate number block of 9 and used on 2 covers, 2 copies of 1856/57 1 r. on 1 s.6 d. with double overprint, the unique pair of British PA in Eastern Arabia 1½ a. on ½ d. green on cover from Bahrain to Doha (illustrated Donaldson handbook p. 193), 1955/60, 10 r. on 10 s. De La Rue printing (SG 96ab) used on registered parce tag (only recorded), photographic proofs of 1959, unissued Petro-Chemicals set, unissued 1960 Mosque 10 f. (2 single copies) and 100 f. (2 blocks of 4), further proofs and scarce postal history; a very important and valuable collection

1931/37, Airmail, collection of 42 first flight and air crash covers, also containing 1933 Zeppelin treaty mail cover for the 4th Southamerica flight, furthermore 1932 first flight covers to Athens and England, both taxed with "T"-marking, 2 crash covers of the "SCIPIO", 3 out of 9 flown covers 1932 Basra-Bahrain etc.; most likely the most important collection of Bahrain airmail

1910/80 (ca.), about 280 covers, cards and postal stationery (here some unused) with many scarce and interesting items, airmail, postage due, field post, registered mail etc., also some stamps incl. George VI. 5 rs. in used block of 4 and 4 copies unissued Mosque 100 f.; very interesting lot
