1866, 3 c. carmine-rose, just touched at upper left, otherwise clear to large margins, tied by target cancel to entire letter from "ST. THOMAS 23 10 1868" to Basin/St. Croix; the stamp with tiny termite hole and the letter with slight paper breaks, still fine
