1877/1903, the mounted collection of 12 finished reproductions with unique 1877 issue 40c and the others mostly reported in fewer than three examples, five are illustrated in Sperati II, Sperati's San Marino reproductions, advertised for sale by Oneglia before 1919, were previously thought to have been done his brother Mariano. Sperati I described two San Marino reproductions but Carl Walske identified a further eleven in Sperati II, all items are ex Carl Walske

1850/78, the highly important mounted collection with 154 items mounted on 15 pages (not counting any of the 14 pages of card proofs and several auction lot cards), includes 1 negative and 2 clichés (ex Robson Lowe), there are over 35 archival items with such varied examples as working proofs signed by Egisto Sperati, reverse prints, color trails, exposure trials and even washed genuine stamps with cancels retained from a Sperati glassine that note they are 1854 issue paper, these archival items were purchased from Sperati's daughter, Yvonne Pochard de Sperati, and most can not be duplicated, all ex Carl Walske

1906, Elobey, Annobon and Corisco, single page with three finished reproductions (one is the plate example in Sperati I) and two proofs (both first reported in Sperati II), a rare assemblage, all ex Carl Walske

1868, single page with two finished reproductions and proof in color, Sperati I recorded having examined only a proof in color, ex Carl Walske

1890, single page with 7 items including 5 finished reproductions and two proofs, ex Carl Walske

1855/89, two pages with 15 items, one of the most interesting groups of the entire collection, the 7 finished reproductions include a nice example of the 3skb error of color (Sperati priced these higher than any of his other stamp reproductions), other material includes 7 decolored genuine stamps from a Sperati stockbook that were awaiting use to make reproductions, and a proof of the 1889 Official issue surcharge (two known, each a different color), all ex Walske

1886/1909, the mounted group of 16 items on two pages, complete showing of the known varieties, includes a proof in color of 1886 issue 5 pa (only known in proof form) as well as 15 finished reproductions, ex Carl Walske

1862/1910, single page with 7 reproductions including 2 proofs, the 10p reproduction is ex Paul Freeland with his inventory card as purchased in 1955 (Sperati I reported only known as proof, CW noted as two known), all are ex Carl Walske

1858, Barquitos and Liberty Head, two pages with 36 items; includes painted tracing of cancel from Sperati archives as well as 1 working proof, 11 trial exposures, tete-beche pairs and one printed on both sides, all are ex Carl Walske

1843, Bulls Eyes, single page with 11 items including 6 trial exposures from Sperati archives and two proofs, all are ex Carl Walske

1870, Heraldic lion 3r. black, two finished reproductions on one page, "unused" and with forged cancel, the forged cancel example is ex Carl Walske

1858, Coat of arms single page with 16 items, includes half peso buff and half peso rose error of color reproductions "unused," proofs in both colors and black as well as a trial exposure as well as finished reproductions with various forged cancels

1856/62, Diligencia and Sun-face, the important mounted collection on 14 pages, the use of the sun-face design as Sperati's logo indicates that Uruguay reproductions were a favorite, this group of 100 items includes a large number of archival items that likely do not exist elsewhere, these include working proofs, special items made for William Hoffmann, this section is a highlight of the Carl Walske Sperati collection

1847, the single page with five items, includes a working proof with Sperati's pencil notations, an "unused" gummed reproduction and three with forged cancels, several ex Van Koppersmith collection, the working proof is ex Carl Walske

1863/83, the single page with seven items, includes a 1c Numeral with rare forged grid cancel and a 5c Numeral working proof, ex Walske collection

NEW YORK: 1845, the single page with nine items, includes 6 finished reproductions, proofs with and without initials and a working proof with Sperati's pencil notes, the working proof is ex Walske

PROVIDENCE (Rhode Island): 1846, a single reproduction "unused", ex Carl Walske

NEW YORK: 1842, a single reproduction tied to piece by forged cancel and with partial forged datestamp, ex Carl Walske

1862/63, two pages with 22 reproductions, includes 5 proofs, 5 "unused" examples as well as a good array of forged postmarks including Cincinnati, New York, and Mobile, most are ex Trish Kaufmann collection

1880, the collection of 8 items on one page, includes an original negative for 2s position PI (ex Robson Lowe), a painted model for an unreported lettering (ex Sperati archives), finished reproductions of all four of the reported corner letterings, and two BPA card proofs, all except the BPA proofs are ex Carl Walske

1886/1901, interesting group of 8 BPA proofs of Barbados 5s., Dominica and Papua including some cancellations and British Empire stamp decolred with genuine "SPECIMEN" overprint retained

1892, single page with two £1 reproductions and two original archival Sperati negatives (one for main design and one for value tablet only), one of the £1 reproductions could be termed as the second state is unreported and has Paul Freeland's inventory card with note, "Purchased from Sperati - June 4, 1956," the card has two handwritten notes, one signed by Walske opining "possibly a new type" and an unsigned pencil note opining that it is a poor print that was unsatisfactory to Sperati and should not be considered a new type (image of Freeland card is here); considered to be not different enough to qualify as a second type but obviously good enough for Sperati to sell and certainly a retouched state

1902, single page with an unused reproduction with perforated "OS" initials, ex Walske, and two BPA card proofs

1913, Kangaroo, single page with two different £2 reproductions and a signed proof of Kangaroo only, also a BPA card proof and three genuine 1d stamps that were acquired from Sperati archival stockbook of stamps that were awaiting decolorization, the type A finished reproduction, the proof and the genuine stamps are ex Carl Walske
