1852, 10 c. grey-black, 2 vertical strips of five and pair, one strip slightly touched at lower left, otherwise all with good margins, tied by nine-bar cancel with adjacent blue "LUXEMBOURG 22....." to registered and sealed double rate cover to Schaarbeek, Belgium. Light file folds affecting four stamps and three stamps in the lower strip with small tears; the pair originally applied around the edge of the cover and opened out for display. One of the largest and most spectacular first-issue frankings. Certificates Demuth BPP (1985) and Goebel AIEP (2014)

1852, 10 c. grey-black, horizontal strip of six with good two large margins, tied by target to cover with adjacent small cds. "DIEKIRCH 1 AVRIL 59" to Liège with transit and arrival marks. Two stamps with light creasing, the envelope slightly toned, still fine. Strips of six are very rare, especially in horizontal form; we have recorded just one further entire with such a strip.
