1864 8 p. purple, 1 a. brown and pair and a single 2 a. yellow, used on an envelope, tied by the Calcutta `B1´ octagonal in black, also two manuscript ink line cancels and the boxed ÌNDIA/PAID` in red, sent to Epping, England, backstamp dated February 9th 1864, with arrival datestamp in black to front March 13th, endorsed `Via Calcutta and Marseille Per after packet`, does have a vertical filing crease to left side well clear of stamps, some wrinkling to edges and the odd minor tone spot to stamp perforations, otherwise a very fine tri-colour combination franking via France; a scarce example. Cert. E. Diena (1983).
