SAXONY - CHINA: 1860, triple rate lettersheet (quadruple for the british share) to Canton, franked with 1851/63, Johann 10 ngr. blue in strip of 5, 5 ngr. vermilion, 3 ngr. on yellow and 1 ngr. on rose and two copies coat of arms 3 pfg. green, all tied by numeral "3" with adjacent "DRESDEN NEUST:BAHNHOF 5/III 60"; on front and reverse transit marks of Triest, Alexandria and Hongkong. On reverse noted "45" nkr. sea postage to Alexandria and "2fl. 8 (nkr.)" postage beyond Alexandria, the later noted on front as "4/-". The franking with small faults, the left 10 ngr. and the 5 ngr. affected by vertical cover creases. One of the highest recorded frankings of Saxony and in combination with the strip of 5 of the 10 ngr. stamp and the rare destination China a unique item and one of the most impressive overseas' covers of the German States.

1860, Briefhülle der dritten Gewichtsstufe (vierfach für den britischen Anteil) nach Canton, frankiert mit 1851/63, Johann 10 Ngr. blau im 5er-Streifen, 5 Ngr. zinnoberrot, 3 Ngr. auf gelb und 1 Ngr. auf rosa und zwei Werten Wappen 3 Pfg. grün, mit Nr. "3" und nebengesetztem DKr. "DRESDEN NEUST:BAHNHOF 5/III 60"; vorder- und rückseitig Transitstempel von Triest, Alexandria und Hongkong. Rückseitiger Portovermerk von Triest für "45" Nkr. Seeporto nach Alexandria und "2fl. 8 (nkr.)" Porto über Alexandria hinaus, letzteres auf der Vorderseite als "4/-" vermerkt. Die Frankatur teils mit kleinen Fehlern, die linke 10 Ngr. und die 5 Ngr. von senkrechten Bügen getroffen. Eine der höchsten Frankaturen Sachsens und in der Kombination mit dem 5er-Streifen der 10 Ngr. Marke und dem seltenen Bestimmungsort China ein einmaliges Stück der Sachsen-Philatelie und einer der eindrucksvollsten Übersee-Briefe der Altdeutschen Staaten.
