3 d. dull red, diagonal bisect in pair, good colour and wide remaining margins, tied by pen cancellation to lettersheet, backstamped "W.O. KINGSTON. KENT N.B NY 28 1860" to Moncton with indistinct transit and arrival marks. A unique usage of a double 3 d. bisect, used shortly after the introduction of the Cents-Currency due to lack of 5 cent stamps since the Connel-stamp was not issued; certificates Philatelic Foundation (1956) and BPA (1976).
