1 shilling dull mauve, diagonal bisect with good to large margins, tied by clear blue grill "8" to entire letter from "CHATHAM MA 19 1858" via St. John to Boston; the letter somewhat re-folded at top and bottom (here small tear), otherwise fine; an attractive and rare letter, signed Bloch with photocopy of 1980 Friedl Expert Committee certificate.
