3 d. dull red, diagonal bisect and horizontal pair, mostly clear to good margins, the right stamp of the pair partly slightly touched, tied by black grill cancel to small envelope from St. John to Ballymoney in Ireland, showing on front quite clear "AMERICAÂ /Â DUBLIN PAIDÂ JAÂ 10 1858"; 2 tears in the envelope repaired and the cover cleaned, part of the reverse flap missing; a rare letter, only 5 covers from New Brunswick to Ireland have been recorded; certificate Philatelic Foundation (1980).
