1 shilling reddish mauve, mostly clear to good margins, slightly touched at one side only, tied by grill "1" to lettersheet with adjacent "ST. JOHN NEW BRUNSWICK JA .. 1855" and "PACKET LETTER" to London , also manuscript "2" for 2 d. (= 3 d. currency) charge to be collected at delivery; a fine letter and supposed to be the unique example of 15 pence letter rate (so-called 'Crimean war rate) via the US to England; certificates Philatelic Foundation (1959 and 1991).
