1857, horizontally ribbed paper: ½ d. deep rose, 2 copies with wove paper 3 d. red and 6 d. greenish grey, partly slightly touched, but mostly clear to good margins, 3 d. with part of marginal inscription at bottom, tied by blue target to cover with adjacent blue "PORT ROWAN AP 14 1859" to Manchester, showing on front clear red "PAID LIVERPOOL BR. PACKET"; the 3 smaller nominations with slight creasing where originally affixed over the edge of the cover, the envelope with small marginal faults, still very attractive three colour franking; the only recorded Pence Issue cover bearing more than two different stamp designs Provenance: Louise Boyd Dale and Alfred F.
