7½ d. yellow-green, very fine example in a deep shade, with large margins all round and portion of adjoining stamp at base, scissor cut in margin only at base, lightly tied to 1859 cover (with complete original contents) to St. Leonards On Sea, England by barred obliterator in black and by 'London / Paid' arrival cds (Dec 7). Carried on the Allan Line Steamer 'Hungarian' from Portland with 'Toronto' despatch cds at left (Nov 24) in black and reverse with St. Leonards arrival (Dec 7) in blue. One or two minor bends to envelope and flap torn on opening, but a very rare cover Scott 9a = $ 5'500.
