1868: Cover at single rate from Marseille to Bernard Eccard & Raud, Yokohama, Japan endorsed 'Par Vapeur Francais', franked by 1862 40 c. orange, two examples, tied by dotted 'Anchor' lozenge with framed 'PD' in black and Paquebot 'LIGNE V / PAQ: FR: No. 3' datestamp alongside (Salles fig 887) and posted on board the Paquebot 'Said'. Reverse with superb strike of YOKOHAMA / BAU. FRANCAIS datestamp (July 6) of receipt. A charming and rare usage. Signed Goebel.
