1843 /1932, extensiv two volume collection, starting with 3 pre-philatelic letters to London, St. Malo and 1854 Packet letter via Mauritius to Rome, also 2 letters 1869/70 with French stamps cancelled by anchor with adjacent “COR.D. ARM....” from Mahe to Dijon. Following there is a large section of Mauritius used on Seychelles including Stanley Gibbons Z2 (3) and Z4(2) and 57 perforated stamps, 1 newspaper, 4 postal stationery items including 8c. envelope and 9 franked covers including four different frankings to the United States (including one of 3 known letters from Zanzibar via Seychelles) and 1 cover to France as well as a large piece with combination franking Mauritius and France cancelled “B64”. The issued stamps very extensive with several die proofs and many SPECIMEN (some in multiples), key plate colour trials, and varieties including 1896, 18 on 45 cents double overprint and 1903, complete unused set with ‘dented frame’ variety (SG 46-59a).Finally a very extensive and interesting part postal stationery, including a hand painted essay and several die proofs, 50 used items, including many registered to abroad, also SPECIMEN and overprint varieties. A marvellous and highly valuable collection well-presented on 89 exhibition pages.
