UMAN (UKRAINE): 10 kopeck brown & blue, good to large margins, tied by boxed "UMAN 3 JUNE 1858" (with "3" and "58" added in manuscript) to letter written entirely in yiddish (outer flaps partly missing), to Zhitomir. The stamp with tiny surface scratch in the lower frame line, otherwise very fine and fresh. A very rare No.1-usage; just one further entire has been recorded from this small place.
