Prince Consort 6 pence slate-violet, good to mostly very wide margins all round, tied by target cancel to lettersheet with adjacent red "MONTREAL MR 18 1853" to New York with curved red "CANADA"; the stamp lifted for inspection, two file folds away from adhesive. Prince Albert 6 pence greenish grey, block of four with wide margins all around, nice fresh colour, unused with original gum, some gum creasing with tiny tear at bottom right stamp and separation cut between stamps at right, otherwise very fine and extremely fresh condition; a major rarity of Canada and British North Aamerican philately, illustrated in colour in Robson Lowe Volume V. Victoria 12 pence black, large to enormous margins all around with small lower sheet margin, cancelled by target in black, leaving the face free; some tiny holes at top right due to small thinning, but almost invisible and not disturbing the overall impression; a marvellous copy of this rarity, certificate BPA (1971) Provenance: Grant G. Victoria 12 pence black, good to large even margins all around and very fine fresh colour, tied by clear target to lettersheet (address cut out and new paper filled in) with adjacent red dispatch mark "MONTREAL AP 14 1853", curved "CANADA" and "PAID"; one of the finest examples of this rarity, of which only about 12 entires are known, certificates BPA (1950 and 1969) and W. Jakubek (1973)

Cartier 10 pence bright blue, horizontal strip of three, good to wide margins all around and nice colour, tied by Hamilton date stamp and red "PKT. LETTER PAID LIVERPOOL OC 2 58" to large piece; the strip had been lifted, interior repair to central stamp, still fine and attractive; a rarity !

1859, perforated issue 5 cents deep red, imperforate block of four from the left sheet margin with large part of imprint "American Bank Note Co."; unused with part o.g., the left pair large repair at back and tiny thin in margin at right, nevertheless a rare block, certificate BPA Provenance: Dale-Liechtenstein (1969)
