1859, Sherwin 2 d. deep blue, a vertical pair in extremely fresh and deep colour, showing good to wide even margins at all sides, used with clear and full strike of boxed "TOO LATE " on small piece. The "TOO LATE" is only known on very few early Mauritius stamps as cancellation, of the Sherwin issue only this pair is known; a beautiful and most remarkable classic rarity, offered for the first time after more than 60 years; signed Köhler and RPS certificate (no. 12.606) of which the top part has been lost
