1859, Essay of engraver Ludwig Kurz from Frankfurt, original die proof 10 c. black on white paper, fixed on small piece of carton, which is sealed to card with statement of Ludwig Kurz given in 1897, that this is the first print taken from the die which he engraved in 1859. Later the die was slightly changed when it was used for the final printings by the company C. Naumann in Frankfurt.
A unique item of Luxembourg philately!
1859, Coat of Arms, essay of printer Pierre Brück from Luxembourg, 10 C. ultramarine, coarse printing on white paper without watermark, complete sheet of 30 stamps incl. tête-bêche on pos. 10, ungummed; 2 tiny tears in the lower margin well off the stamps, otherwise very fine. A great rarity of Luxembourg philately, 2 tête-bêches are known, this being the only one known within a complete sheet besides these two mentioned; no other tête-bêches are known of Luxembourg stamps
1859/63, Coat of Arms 4 c. yellow in horizontal pair with clear to mostly wide margins, tied by clear cds. "LUXEMBOURG 30 AVRIL 67" to small preprinted double rate printed matter wrapper to Berlin; the pair has been lifted and replaced, the right stamp with tiny corner crease, otherwise very fine; a rare franking, sign. Demuth BPP and certificate Böttger BPP
