"CENSURE MILITAIRE KIGOMA LE 09/10/17 LE CENSEUR", white censor label on reverse of registered cover originally franked with Ruanda-Urundi 1916  5c.-5fr., 1fr. fell off in transit, see handwritten notation at top left, from "KIGOMA 2 OC 17" to Paris, censor label at right, not deliverable at the address and returned accordingly, various transit stamps on the reverse, some faults, but a very attractive and rare entire

"Blanket" (80x59mm) showing the pencil marks and two complete rows with albino surcharge "G.R.I. 2d." and one row with surcharge of "G.R.I.", position 1-3, fold in the "outer margin", a very fine and attractive item showing why sometimes indelible pencil markings are found on these stamps (see also Gibbs page 5-6)

1d. on 5 pfg., position 6, with variety "d inverted" and "I with straight top serif", fresh color and good perforation, neatly tied by oval "RABAUL" cancel to small piece, a true rarity with a total of only two known copies, both being used, signed Kosack and certificate BPA (1992) (Gibbs 17db)

1d. on 5 pfg., good color and well centered, with clear double overprint with variety "I for 1", without gum, some imperfections (creases, thin spots etc.), otherwise fine and visually very attractive and only one of two possibly pieces, this one being ex White, the other known being ex Bute, a great rarity, certificate BPA (1933)

2d. on 10 pfg., horizontal strip of four from the lower right sheet corner with full marginal inscription "DEUTSCH-NEU-GUINEA", positions 7-10, mint never hinged, very fine, crease in the other right margin only
