Canea 1903, Cretan stamps not accepted by Turkish Authorities: Picture postcard franked with a 5L (1900 issue), tied with "CHANIA 21.June.1903", sent to Halki (Prince islads). The Authorities didn't accept the Cretan stamp (the Cretan State was not recognized by the Ottoman Empire), they heavily blotted the stamp with ink and marked the envelope with oval "T" marking. The receiver paid 10pa by Ottoman Postage due stamps (1901 issue), tied by bilingual Ottoman "HALKI (ILE) 25.4.319" cds, very rare and desirable item, a must for every Postal History exhibit
