UNITED STATES - GREECE: 1860, envelope from New York to Athens, franked with 1857/61, 1 c. blue as 'Carrier fee', tied by "23 NEW YOR AM. PKT. OCT. 29"; endorsed "Via England" but transported via Prussia and Trieste with red "Aachen 3 12" on reverse next to arrival mark (in mistake 3.11., Julian calendar). On front noted in blue crayon "55 10 15" neukreuzer for the conveyance from New York to the Greek harbour and in red crayon the total due of "255" lepta to be paid by the recipient.
