UNITED STATES - TURKISH EMPIRE: 1870, cover from Middleborough, Mass. to Constantinople, franked with 1869, pictorial issue 15 c. type II ; adjacent "NEW YORK NOV. 5"; on reverse arrival mark "NORDDEUTSCHE POST-AGENTUR....." which was in use only from March 1870 till May 1871. A fine and scarce  entire from the well known Washburn correspondence. (Scott 119)
