Charles IX (1550-1574), signature in his own hand "Charles" on entire letter of 2 pages, dated "Compiegne 31 juillet 1567" addressed to his ambassador in Spain Raimond de Fourquevaux; interesting text about Spanish troupes in Flandres etc., a rare historic document

Napoleon III., signature "Napoleon Bonaparte" and greetings in his own hand on entiere letter (without envelope), dated "Palais Royal, le 20 Juliet 18455", adressed to general Pelissier, chef of the 'Armee d'orient', referring to the crimean war

1849, Ceres 15 c. green, good to large margins and deep colour, with a central strike of PC "420" BLOIS, very fine; a scarce type of cancellation on this stamp

15 c. green in horizontal pair with good to large margins, together with 1 fr. red, just touched at upper left, otherwise clear to mostly wide margins, tied by light 'grille sans fin' to small mourning cover from "PARIS 11 MARS 52" to New York, showing on front "5" in circle; the pair slightly fixed over the edge of the cover but without defect; a fine and scarce franking, signed Calves, Brun and Goebel

1853, Napoléon imperforated 1 c. olive on bluish, block of 4 from the right sheet margin, unused o.g., very fine and fresh

1853/61, Napoleon 1 fr. carmine in combination with 1852, 25 c. blue in vertical pair, all with clear to large margins, tied by dotted "DS2" to lettersheet with adjacent "PARIS 31 JANV 54" via England to Tampico, Mexico, very light bend through franking (almost invisible); an attractive and scarce entire in original state of preservation, sign. CORPS d'ARMÉE / ETAT MAJOR GENERAL" to Charité sur Loire and redirected to Nevers, showing on reverse additional dispatch mark of Paris and both arrival marks; a fine and rare army letter

LE FERDINAND FLOCON: 'Gazette des Absents No. 4" with supplement, franked with Lauré 20 c., tied by star cancel "3" with adjacent "PARIS PL. DE LA MADELEINE 3 NOV. 70" to Brulon, here additionally franked with 10 c. ocre and re-directed to London with part of arrival mark on front; fine and scarce, certificate Roumet (2012)
