Gut erhaltenes Dokument.

Formular und Marken sind getönt bzw. mit Beförderungsspuren und Marken teils fehlerhaft, sonst in guter Gesamterhaltung. Eine spektakuläre Großfrankatur von 39 Gulden und 65 Kreuzer mit seltener Destination Argentinien

10 So. braun, farbfrisch und gut gezähnt, mit leicht aufgesetztem EKr. "MILANO 30 GIU" (1859) auf datierter Briefhülle nach Fiorenzuola mit Ankunftsstempel. Eine äußerst seltene Verwendung dieser Marke am letzten Tag der provisorischen Regierung und offiziellem letzten möglichen Verwendungstag dieser Marke. Signiert Bottacchi mit Attest (2024)

Post Office Negative Seals: group of four double Post Horn handstamps, with Popovo in blue,  green, and red, Yambol in green (recorded only in 1880), and two crossed-arrow “Eastern Rumelia Telegraphs”  handstamps used for telegram receipts, with examples from Sliven and Yambol, some light creasing in places, but a scarce group.

1880 (October 6), stampless cover, struck with black FRANCO in Latin characters, postmarked with Burgas c.d.s. in black, received at Varna on October 8, undeliverable and noted “Retour” in blue crayton, with second Varna c.d.s. (Oct 13) on reverse, some overall wear, but a rare returned cover following the withdrawl of Russian troops.

Note: Eastern Rumelia’s only shipping link to international shipping was at Burgas, where Russian and Austrian vessels connected the country to the Black Sea port of Varna. 

1881, 1pre on 20pa green, through 5pia, overprinted “R.O.” in blue, used set of four, with 1881 10pa overprinted “R.O.” and “ROUMÉLIE ORIENTALE” in blue, usual small perforation flaws, the 2pi with creased perf at lower right, 5pi with thin at top, the 1pre and 20pa signed Mikulski, 2pi with 1997 Holcombe certificate, of overall fine appearance.

1881, 1/2pre on 20pa green, overprinted “R.O.” in blue, block of four, cancelled with two strikes of circular grid cancel in blue, fresh colour, partially trimmed along top perfs, else a scarce and visually-appealing multiple.

1881, 1/2pre on 20pa green horizontal pair, overprint “R.O.” inverted, centrally-struck with circular grid cancel in blue, nicely-centered and fresh colour, light central wrinkles not detracting from the pleasing appearance of this scarce variety.

1881, 1/2pre on 20pa green, overprinted “R.O.” in blue, vertical pair, cancelled with multiple strikes of circular grid cancel in blue, some small perf flaws as commonly found, else a fine and scarce pair; with 1996 Holcombe certificate.
