"TRANGISVAAG 20 JAN 1914" on wavy lines 5 øre green on postcard to a sailor on the ship SS Magnus at Copenhagen, here re-addressed and franked with Christian 5 øre, sent to Bona, Algeria and from here again forwarded to Dublin, Ireland; an interesting and scarce card

"VAAG" with star, clear strike on 1884/1902, 10 øre red on cover with adjacent "TRANGISVAAG 5-7-1904" to Copenhagen with arrival mark. "VESTMANHAVN" with star, 2 clear strikes on Christian 20 øre brown and 30 øre orange in horizontal pair on complete parcel card with adjacent "THORSHAVN 29.4.22" to Øre; card with light creases, one affecting the 20 øre, still fine and attractive

"VIDEREJDE" with star, very nice strike on Christian 20 øre brown on commercial envelope with adjacent "KLAKSVIG 17.7.23" to Thorshavn with arrival mark of July 19; a very rare cancellation in this condition, most strikes recorded are unclear; signed Möller BPP

"Fra Faeroerne", straight line marking on postcard written "Thorshavn 14/4 1918" and franked with soldier's stamp "SF" 5 øre green, cancelled in transit with Copenhagen machine cancel of April 23; very rare, 5 items are recorded from the Faroes with Danish soldier's stamps and unique with Fra Færøerne marking

"FRA ENGLAND" on cover franked with GB George V 2½ d., tied by "THORSHAVN 5.7.24", addressed to Vaag

1914, 28.9., commercial cover with backside advertising from Hull to Midvaag with great pink British censor label "OPENED BY CENSOR. 86"; one of the earliest recorded censored covers to the Faroes in WWI and the only recorded with pink label

Postcard with 1905, 2 øre red and 1913, 5 øre green, dated "H.M.S. 'Beskytteren' Christmas 1918" (prior to its January 2, 1919 departure), sent to Copenhagen and re-directed to Vedbaek with both arrival marks on front, Copenhagen machine cancel tying the stamps. There are only 3 entires recorded with 2 øre stamps used in the provisional period; a marvelous example and great rarity of Faroes postal history; certificate Nielsen (2006)

1913, 4 øre bisect with 5 øre, tied by clear first day cancel "THORSHAVN 3.1.19" to cover to Kvalvig; one of the finest of 7 recorded first day covers (Facit 1a)

1913, 4 øre bisect with Christian 10 øre as additional franking on postal stationery envelope 10 øre with cds. "TRANGISVAAG" as registered letter to Thorshavn with arrival mark of January 23; a unique and highly attractive franking; very light bend in the envelope and 10 øre one missing perf, otherwise very fine, certificate C.A. 1917, 4 øre bisect with 5 øre green, tied by clear star cancel "VESTMANHAVN" with adjacent "THORSHAVN 9.1.19" to envelope to Kvalbo with star cancel arrival mark. A fine and rare cover, nice example of the scarce 1917 watermark crown bisect on cover, certificate C.A. Möller (2003) (Fazit 1c) Provenance: Per Erik Knudsen (2003)

1905, 4 øre bisect perf. 12 3/4, with 5 øre, tied by cds. "THORSHAVN 15.1.19" to cover addressed to the ship 'Beskytteren'; the cover reduced in size at top, otherwise very fine; one of the finest of 8 recorded examples; certificate Grønlund (1975) and C.A. Bisected 1904/12, 4 øre on 8 øre with additional franking Christian 5 øre, tied by cds. "VAAG 20.1.19" to piece, very fine. The only recorded example of this bisect from the correct period of use and a great rarity of Faroe Islands; certificates Nielsen (1995) and Möller BPP (2008)

Wrapper bisect 4 øre, lower left half with Christian 5 øre, tied by first-day-cancel "THORSHAVN 6.1.19" to small envelope to Tjørnovik; cover slightly reduced at left by opening and some minor creasing, not affecting the franking. One of only 2 recorded first-day-covers of the cut-out; certificate C.A. Möller (1997) (Fazit 2)

Wrapper bisect 4 øre, fixed with Christian 5 øre to cover to Thorshavn, stamps tied by clear star cancel "SOLMUNDEFJORD" and 5 øre additionally with Thorshavn arrival mark of 24.1.1919; a very fine and rare entire, certificate Möller AIEP (2004) (Facit 2) Provenance: Christian Andersen (2004)
