"CURACAO 7/8 1873" with adjacent "FRANCO." and endorsed "Care of the Honorable J. Cappe", mailed to St. Thomas, here franked with 4 d., pl. 13, tied by duplex "ST. THOMAS PAID AU 15 73" and mailed to Veracruz, fine and extremely scarce (SG Z10)
VENEZUELA - MEXICO: 1875, Lettersheet from Maracaibo endorsed "Care of J. Cappe Esq. dutch Consul St. Thomas", franked with 1873, 2½ c. green, 10 c. blue and 15 c. brown-orange with mute bar cancel, sent to St. Thomas, where GB 4 d. vermilion was applied, tied by duplex "ST. THOMAS AU 15 73" and sent to Veracruz. The paper of the entire restored and backed, 25 c. with ironed crease and 2 rubbed spots. A rare and attractive franking, certificate APS (2002) (SG Z10)

VENEZUELA - UNITED STATES: 1862, Entire letter from Caracas to New York, sent by Venezuelan post to St. Thomas forwarding agent James T. Abbot & Co. (blue oval), handed over to "ST. THOMAS EXPRESS OFFICE" (in blue with manuscript date "21 10 62") and sent to New York with frontside "5" cents due; the Venezuelan stamp removed, still a very scarce letter via the express office
VENEZUELA - UNITED STATES: 1869, Entire letter sent from British PO "CIUDAD-BOLIVAR PAID SP 1 69", franked with Trinidad (1 d.), tied by "D22" and sent via "TRINIDAD SP 5" and "ST. THOMAS SP 13" to New York with frontside "N.Y. STEAMSHIP 10" and from here to Philadelphia with arrival mark of September 21. A fine and rare letter. Only about half a dozen letters are recorded with Trinidad 1 d. stamps franked and cancelled at Ciudad Bolivar for Trinidad transit. (SG 69), certificate RPSL (2001)
