Der Brief ist portogerecht frankiert mit 3 Neugroschen Postvereinsgebühr und 2 Neugroschen Weiterfranko. Ein attraktiver und seltener Brief in sehr schöner Erhaltung. RUSSIAN-OTTOMAN WAR: 1877, Romanian postcard 5 bani brown, with long text, written by a  soldier of the Romanian expeditionary force, dated "Verbica (= Varbitsa,Bulgaria) 1877 Octombriu 24" and send via "BUCURESCI 9 NOV.77" to Campulung with blue arrival mark. Some not disturbing marginal staining, otherwise fine. This is the only recorded item from a Romanian military in the Russian-Turkish war. An item of great historical interest. FROM ROMANIA: 1880, unpaid envelope with clear „BUCURESTI GARA TIRGU-VESTEI 8 MAI 80“ to Plovdiv (at that time Eastern Roumelia) with transit marks off Constantinople and arrival marks of the Austrian PO, charged with 20 kreuzer upon arrival.

FROM ROMANIA: 1884, postcard 5 b. with additional franking 1879, 5 b. green, tied by „BUREAU AMBULANT DUNA….No.1/ 22 OCT 84“ to Sistov, showing on reverse bilingual arrival mark next to „Danubian travelling post office No.1“. Stamp slightly damaged at top, otherwise fine and scarce

1856, "FRANKO", framed handstamp in blue-black ink, superb strike on entire letter from Bakeu, unusually written in German (and the only recorded thus), to the Central Telegraph Office in Jassy, with interesting content "die hochverehrte Direktion möge ihm die längst fälligen 35 Galben (Gold Ducats) für seine ausgeführten Aufträge ausbezahlen". 1859, "TARGOVISTE MAR 9", double line cyrillic handstamp in blue, superb strike on entire letter. Some contemporary notations, otherwise a fine letter with a very scarce handstamp.

1860, "TIRGUJIUL FEB. 22", double line cyrillic handstamp, very fine strike on entire letter to Bucharest (with full contents in German language) with blue arrival mark. The latest and finest of just four recorded letters with this elusive handstamp. Certificate Heimbüchler BPP (2010)

1858, 40 pa. blue on white wove paper, two overlapped examples , tied by blue cds. "ROMAN MOLDOVA 19/5"to small money letter for a transmission of 50 ducats in gold to Jassy. The right hand stamp had been used before with clear blue "JASSY / MOLDOVA" cds. . Obviously the Postmaster in Roman himself applied the second stamp over the already used example, presumably pocketing the 40 parales paid by the sender. Further strike of the Roman datestamp at lower right. An extraordinary postal fraud and the only recorded from Roman; the staff at the Post Office there (and at Berlad and Botosani) were dismissed by the Moldavian Finance Minister on November 2, 1859. 1862, hand struck from single dies, 6 par. deep brick red, horizontal pair and strip of three with mostly good to large margins, the pair partly slightly touched, tied by clear strikes of black oval „FRANCO GALATZ No. 2“ to lettersheet to Bakeu with red arrival mark. A fine and outstanding letter. Signed A. Diena and Heimbüchler BPP.

1864, printed from plates, 30 par. blue on wove paper, printed on both sides, complete sheet of 40 stamps, unused with original gum, most stamps unmounted mint; nice fresh colour, few stamps with tears resp. small hole, otherwise fine and fresh. One of the greatest rarities of the third issue; the only recorded sheet of this rare variety. Certificate Heimbüchler AIEP (2006)

1865, Cuza 2 pa. orange on wove paper, nice fresh colour and huge margins on three sides, ample margin at left, tied by clear grill obliterator in black to complete printed matter of the insurance agency Jacob Rosenzweig with adjacent „BUCURESTI 7/6“ (1865) to ploesti with blue arrival mark. A magnificent example of this exceedingly rare rate in excellent quality. Signed Jacots and Pascanu, certificate Heimbüchler (2009).

1868, Carol with whiskers, 18 b. vermilion in horizontal pair, nice colour and good to large margins, with clear central boxed „FRANCO“ and adjacent cds. „CAMPULUNG 8/8“ to lettersheet to Bucharest with arrival mark. The entire not quite complete on reverse and small thin at front, still fine and scarce.

1868, Carol with whiskers, 18 b. dull rose red, nice colour and large margins, tied by boxed „FRANCO“ and cds. „BRAILA 27/6“ to lettersheet to Bucharest (used before as official letter with inside „OLTENITA DIST. ILFOVU 20/6“ to Braila). The entire with small tear at top, otherwise very fine.

1869, 10 bani blue divided into 2 vertical bisects, both with large margins, showing parts of the adjoining stamp at bottom, and each tied by cds. "BOLGRAD 28/4" (1871) to 2 recepisse forms (registration numbers 58 and 59) with adjacent straight line "BOLGRAD". Very fine and fresh. A most remarkable and most likely unique pair. Signed Pascanu
