"БАКУ 15 11 22" to reverse of folded out handmade registered cover from the Editorial Department of the Azerbaijan Naphtha Soc. "ASNEFTI" to London, vertical fold affecting one stamp, stamps partly applied over edge, an attractive and unusual cover
January 1923, Enumerator Surcharge 5000 on 2000r., block of 30 tied by cds. "БАКУ 27 3 23" to reverse of registered cover to Milwaukee, a fine and desirable item
1833, entire letter from Bahia to Lubeck, carried by private ship 'Uranus' to Geestemünde (captain's charge 3¾ sgr. noted on front), here posted with straight line "GEESTENDORF"; in Lubeck charged with total of "12" schilling. Explanation of postage enclosed
1848, entire letter from British PO "RIO DE JANEIRO MY22 1848" via Hamburg forwarding agent Ant. Dan. Pehmöller to Herrnhut, Saxony; in England charged with "3/1", in Hamburg charged with "46" Schilling Hamburg currency.
Incoming mail: 1851, letter sheet of first travel of 'Royal Mail Steam Packet Company' steamer 'TEVIOT' , dated on flap "Hamburg 3 Januar 1851" via London with red "PAID 6 JAN 1851" and manuscript "3.1" to Santos, here rated with "660" (reis) brazilian share
1854, Desmadryl 5 c. deep reddish-brown with ample to mostly large margins, tied by target to reverse of entire letter from Santiago to Valparaiso with frontside manuscript tax notation "10", cancelled by clear strike of target (obviously when the stamp on reverse of the cover was detected). A rare entire in very fine condition; it was strictly forbidden to apply stamps on the reverse of letters. Opinion Maier BPP and certificate Philatelic Foundation (2000)
1857/62, Estancos 5 c. rose-red, block of four with tiny pre-printing paper fold at lower right, good to enormous margins with parts of five adjoining stamps, tied by target cancel to entire letter with adjacent red "SANTIAGO CHILE JUN 10 60" to Valparaiso; very fine. 1856/62, Estancos 5 c. rose-red and 5 c. blue, both with ample to very large margins, tied by straight line "YLLAPEL" resp. target to lettersheet, docketed "Yllapel 2 Febrero 1858" to Valparaiso; fine and very scarce; signed Darteyre and certificate 'Sociedad Filatelica de Chile' (1988)
1856/62, Estancos 5 c. vermilion, strip of five, original strip of six and single stamp, mixed margins, the strip of five with parts of adjoining stamps at top and bottom, tied by target cancel to front and reverse of letter sheet with adjacent red "VALPARAISO CHILE 11 SET 63" to Arequipa, Peru, with frontside straight line "ISLAY" and taxed with "2r" in manuscript. The strip of six was fixed around the edge of the entire and torn by opening. a fine entire with a remarkable and very rare franking to abroad. (Scott 9d)
1857/62, Estancos 5 c. deep red, horizontal marginal block of 10, partly touched, large margins at top and sheet margin at right, lightly cancelled, very fine and rare, the largest multiple of this stamp recorded.

1856/62, Estancos, 10c sky blue, the famous vertical block of 9 with adjoining diagonal bisect, full right sheet margin with marginal inscription "Es preciso colocar las estampas....", unused with original gum and hinge remainders, varying margins, touched or just cut into at upper left and foot, some creases, but mostly faint. 1861/62, Third London Printing 10 c. bright blue on blued paper, block of fifteen with large margins at top and right, just shaved on the other sides, fine fresh colour and lightly cancelled by target. Minor vertical creasing in the 2nd vertical row from right; a tiny stain removed on the second stamp from left in the top rowe, otherwise very fine and fresh. An attractive multiple of great rarity.

1861/62, Third London Printing 10 c. bright blue on blued paper, 3 sides with good two large margins, tied to letter sheet with adjacent red "VALDIVIA CHILE 20 NOV. 67" via Panama and London to Witzenhausen in the German province of Hesse; rated in England "2/3" and taxed in Germany with a total of "26" silbergroschen. A fine and rare letter. Certificate Maier BPP (2018)
1861/62, Third London Printing 10 c. bright blue on blued paper, vertical pair and block of six, mixed margins, tied to entire letter with adjacent red "VALPARAISO CHILE 27 ABR."(1865) to Coquimbo. The top stamp of the pair with tear, four stamps of the block affected by creases, still attractive; a high domestic franking (The writer mentions in the text additional papers which were included)
1861/62, Third London Printing 10 c. bright blue on blued paper with error of watermark "20" instead of "10", good to large margins with parts of two adjacent stamps, nicely cancelled, leaving the bust mostly visible. 1861/62, Third London Printing 10 c. pale blue on blued paper together with estancos 5 c. pale orange, the later one just touched at lower left, otherwise both with good to large margins, tied by barred "CANCELLED" to entire letter to Valparaiso with adjacent red boxed "MULTADA" and due marking "10" in circle. The.10 c. tiny gum stain in lower left corner, otherwise fine and fresh.
1866/67, last printings 5 c. red, horizontal strip of seven, the right stamp touched at bottom, otherwise clear to large margins, together with pair and three single stamps with mixed margins, tied to entire letter with faint red Valparaiso dispatch mark, to Lima, Peru. One stamp of the strip with paper wrinkle, caused when applied, one stamp of the pair with filing crease and a single stamp slight marginal crease; still fine. An attractive letter to abroad with a rare multiple.
