"SAVIGNY-S-ORGE 17 FEVR 55" to cover endorsed "Via Southampton and Pananma by Steamer to San Francisco. With red boxed "PD" and London transit mark and "20" due handstamp, struck in error in San Francisco, carried on RMSP "La Plata" from Southampton to St. Thomas, then by RMSP "Conway" to Colon and carried to California by the PMSC "Golden Gate", both stamps at edge some imperfections, a fine and late use for the 25 decimes per 7,5g. fully-paid rate to California by the Royal Mail Steam Packet
