1810, H.M.S. VENUS: Folded letter dated "New York August 25 1810" to Dorking, no prepayment, treated as a packet letter and charged "2/-" and changed to 2/2" for delivery to Dorking, fine

1811, LEANDER: Folded letter from New Brunswick 23rd May 1811 to Liverpool with oval "SHIP LETTER LIVERPOOL" struck alongside, no apparent charge, probably paid the captain 2d., total transit of 66 days having called at Ireland en route. The letter was not landed in Ireland which was a serious breach of the regulations.

1812, SWIFTSURE: Folded letter dated "Charleston Oct. 6 1812" addressed to Edenburg, Scotland, sent via New York 8th November, Halifax 19th November and Falmouth 23rd December with green "AMERICA F DE 23 1812" alongside, charged with "7/3", fine

1813, DIDO: Folded letter from Philadelphia 1st October 1813 via New York to Ireland with boxed "LIVERPOOL SHIP LETTER" alongside, charged "1´8d" (8d ship letter, 10d inland to Holyland and 2d for the packet to Dublin), there on 30th October an extra 9d for 65-90 miles to Belfast was added, in all "2/5d" charged, fine
